Haymarket by Scandic opens Room 24 and Suite 24

On Haymarket by Scandic In Stockholm, Scandic and Blossa are once again opening the doors to Room 24, last Christmas' successful hotel room experience for everyone who thinks Christmas Eve can't come soon enough. New for this year is Suite 24, a completely new and larger hotel room where the Christmas spirit can find its way to the whole family. In Bar Americain, the hotel's award-winning bartender has created an exclusive, Christmas-inspired cocktail based on this year's mulled wine, Blossa 22 New Orleans.

Rovaniemi opens Christmas season 2022 in Santa Claus Village

Post-pandemic travel is on the rise and Santa's official hometown is expecting a busy winter season. A record number of flight connections are taking travellers directly from 11 European cities, and the first flights have been full. The Grand Opening of Christmas Season is an annual celebration, which this year takes place on 19 November in Santa Claus Village. The event brings together locals and visitors to the Arctic Circle and is broadcast online.

Nordic Choice Hotels launches Room for Gaming

On 8 November 2022, Nordic Choice Hotels opened the booking of its Room for gaming rooms at Quality Hotel Globe for the first time ever. The hotel rooms are newly renovated and in collaboration with Telia and GSIGN designed to meet the needs of a growing target group. The rooms are equipped with high-speed internet, sound-absorbing curtains, silencers, specialised lighting and blackouts.

Norwegian starts flying to Åre Östersund

Just in time for Christmas, Norwegian starts operating the Stockholm Arlanda - Åre route. Östersund. From Åre Östersund Airport it is about 1.5 hours by car to the popular Åre mountains. Between 22 December and 8 January, and between 16 February and 23 March, Norwegian will fly the route twice a week.

Viking Line launches craft beer

Viking Line is launching its own beer developed in collaboration with the award-winning microbrewery Rock Paper Scissors Brewing. Viking Line IPA is a high-quality and easily accessible craft beer where sea salt meets caramelised malt notes. The beer is available for sale in the ship's restaurants from 11 November 2022.

SJ re-establishes services between Stockholm and Oslo

It is finally time to resume the long-awaited train service between Stockholm and Oslo, after several years of track work on the Norwegian side. In connection with the timetable change on 11 December, SJ will increase the service to five departures in each direction on weekdays.

Icelandic PLAY starts flights between Stockholm and Reykjavik

The Icelandic low-cost carrier PLAY is establishing itself in Stockholm for the first time with a direct route from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to the Icelandic capital. Reykjavik. From 31 March, PLAY will operate four times a week all year round at Stockholm Arlanda Airport - Keflavik International Airport with the Airbus A321Neo aircraft type.

TUI launches direct flight to Karpathos

TUI is now launching direct flights to the Greek island of Karpathos. A perfect destination for lovers of Greece who want to discover something new. Departures are offered from Stockholm and Copenhagen directly to the Greek gem of Karpathos during the 2023 summer season.
