Italy is Sweden's food country
Swedes' love of Italian food is reaching new heights according to Ticket's latest Sifo survey. As many as 62 per cent of Swedes say that Italy is the best food country to visit. With a 52% increase in trips compared to 2019, travel to Italy has reached new heights, and Swedes seem to have a particular fondness for the country's culinary richness.
TUI resumes travel to Rhodes
TUI resumes travelling to Rhodes after the situation is now under control according to local authorities. Only a few pockets of fire remain in southern Rhodes, and transport, water and electricity supplies are operating almost normally. Travel will resume from 29 July 2023 and the TUI Care Foundation is currently collecting donations to support the affected communities. TUI continues to monitor the situation to ensure a safe and memorable holiday for all travellers.
Flix launches new express bus line: Poland, Sweden, Norway
FlixBus is launching a new bus service between Poland, Sweden and Norway with a final destination of Oslo. The first trip will depart on 3 August from Krakow. The new line also means that the cities Karlskrona, Växjö and Värnamo are added to the Flix bus network.
Swedes want more intimacy and fewer in-laws on holiday
A majority of Swedes feel more romantic in the summer and also want more intimacy. This is according to a new survey from Countryside Hotels. At the same time, it makes a big difference who goes on holiday with you, with your partner and children at the top, while other people's children, work colleagues and in-laws are at the bottom. Most popular to take on holiday:

This is Sweden's most beautiful landscape
Sweden has a lot to offer, but which landscape is the most beautiful? Sifo, the motorhome and caravan retailer Forsbergs Fritidscenter, asked more than 1,000 Swedes to find out. Skåne take it home. Here are Sweden's most beautiful landscapes, according to Swedes:
- Skåne (19 %)
- Bohuslän (15%)
- Gotland / Dalarna (14%)
- Öland (10%)
- Jämtland / Lapland (9 %)
Reflection of the week
Italy always comes out on top as a food country in these surveys. We think otherwise. There are of course many fine and flavourful ingredients in Italy, but we've had rather monotonous and tasteless food in Italian restaurants. It always annoys people that we think that way, but that's just our personal experience.

I can imagine that many people are closer to intimacy in the summer because there is often more time off and peace and quiet. Perhaps easier to prioritise when there is a lot of intense work, grocery bags, kids and leisure activities to be arranged here and there.
I have to admit that I was a little surprised at which province took the first place. Maybe I've been too little in Skåne... I'll just have to do better. 🙂 For me, northern Sweden is the most beautiful.

We do think that Skåne is very nice, but we also wonder if people vote a little patriotically. That is, many people live in Skåne, and perhaps they also vote for Skåne to a slightly greater extent ...? Conversely, you could think that fewer people live in the different regions in Norrland ...
