More people than ever want to holiday in a motorhome or caravan

Interest in motorhomes and caravans is hitting new records. As many as 65 percent of Swedes say they can imagine holidaying on wheels - the highest figure since Forsbergs Fritidscenter began measuring through Kantar Sifo in 2022.

The survey shows that 10% of Swedes regularly holiday in a motorhome or caravan, and 23% have done so on a single occasion. Another 32 per cent would like to try it. In total, 65% are in favour of camping - an increase of seven percentage points compared to last year.

Increased interest in experiential travel

Croatia is one of their most popular destinations with year-round diving and over 1000 islands along the Adriatic coast. The most popular diving trips are already being booked until 2027.

3 new rides at Skara Summerland

On 24 May, Skara Sommarland opened its doors for a new season. There are three new rides in the newly renovated fairground area: Free fall (20 metres high drop tower), Houdini (floating sofa) and The Little Ferris Wheel (a newly renovated classic from 1931 for the youngest visitors and parents who want to share a nostalgic moment).

A new buffet restaurant and a waffle bar have been added to the park and 10 exclusive cabanas (bookable exclusive oases) have been built by the pools. A new show featuring stunts, fire and acrobatics is also on display.

Cruise tours in the Piteå Archipelago are coming back

In summer 2025, a repeat of last year's success, both shrimp and cruise tours in Piteå Archipelago will be available during the summer. The cruises, organised by M/S Laponia, offer different tours for different target groups, including lunch cruises, excursions to Stenskär and shrimp cruises.

Reflection of the week

Interesting that Cyprus is so hot among the charter destinations this summer - a nice destination where we appreciated the countryside and the good food! Then, of course, even more holidaying is done at home in Sweden - perhaps on Öland or one of the five-star campsites. Where are you holidaying this summer?
