It's almost time! At the beginning of next week, we will be travelling abroad for the first time this year. The flight will take just over an hour and we will then be on site for three days. We are looking forward to it!

Where are we going?
So, where are we going? Well, this journey takes us to Sopot in Poland! This is a press trip, in co-operation with Visit Sopot, focusing on what to see and experience in Sopot in winter.
In summer, Sopot is a very popular holiday destination, with its long beautiful sandy beaches and its many hotels and restaurants. We have been here several times with our motorhome, and we must say that Sopot is a favourite during the summer months.

What is Sopot like in winter?
So what is Sopot like in winter? Well, that remains to be seen ... We recently visited a somewhat similar destination (along the same stretch of coast) in December, in the form of Usedom. It was a very nice visit, so I guess it can be nice also in Sopot in winter. But as I said, we will come back to it!

What should we do in Sopot?
As the trip to Sopot is a press trip, we have a programme. We will of course visit the long beautiful pier in Sopot. There will also be a guided walk, a museum, an art gallery, a boat trip, a spa or sauna and a restaurant visit. Maybe we can also do some excursions of our own ... Do you have any tips on places in Sopot that we should not miss?

How do I get to Sopot?
Sopot is easily accessible by car or motorhome. For example, you can take Polferries from Nynäshamn to Gdansk or with Stena Line from Karlskrona to Gdynia. We will fly this time, and it will be a flight from Stockholm to Gdansk. From Gdansk to Sopot it takes only half an hour by car.
Follow our journey!
If you're curious about what Sopot has to offer this time of year, follow our journey! We will first of all update on Instagram during the trip, at @freedomtravel.se . As soon as we have time, there will of course be text and pictures here too!

That's great! Sopot is fantastic during a hot summer! Certainly calmer in winter but can probably be cosy in a different way!

I have never visited Poland, something you should perhaps, have many acquaintances who travelled around there, exciting. 🙂
Take care.

How lovely with a few days in Sopot. Last autumn we were in Poland for a few days and then we had planned to go to Sopot as well. Unfortunately, covid attacked me in Gdansk so there were some reprioritisations but Sopot is well left. Will be fun to follow you!

Beloved Sopot, which both you and we have visited a number of times. It will be really exciting to read what the city has to offer in winter. I'm also curious if all the restaurants along the seafront are open this time of year.
Bar Przystán (https://barprzystan.pl/en/) on the seafront and Pensjonat Irena (https://www.pensjonat-irena.com/karczma/ is open in any case. Highly recommended.
It's amazing how hard Poland is pushing right now to bring in tourists. They spend a lot of money on well-made adverts on BBC for example. Slightly different adverts, but mostly promoting Warsaw and haute cuisine.

Thanks for the tips! Looks like nice places! And interesting to hear about the adverts and what they highlight! Haven't seen it myself.
