Updated: August 2026 | Baranów Sandomierski is a magnificent Renaissance castle in southeastern Poland, known for its elegant courtyard, arcades and beautiful surroundings. The castle is sometimes called ”Little Wawel” due to its similarities to the much more famous Wawel Castle in Kraków. We stopped here during a road trip through eastern Poland and were given an almost private tour of the castle.

Updated: August 2026 | Zakopane is located at the foot of the Tatra Mountains in southern Poland and is one of the country's most popular holiday destinations. In winter, skiing is the main attraction, but in summer, green valleys, high mountains, hiking trails and excursions to some of Poland's most beautiful natural areas await. Punkva caves are located in Blansko, just north of Brno in the Czech Republic. These large caves are filled with stalagtites, stalagmites and fascinating rock formations. However, what makes this cave particularly worth visiting is the green and grassy area in the centre of the cave and the underground river where you can glide along in a boat.

Now is the last thing to be done here at home before the trip. We have had time to plan a lot this year and made some improvements to the car. It feels like we are compensating for what we didn't get to do last year. Last year we didn't have time to do much. We packed clothes and passports, then went out. It went well too 🙂 As long as we have all the papers belonging to the car, passports and visa cards, we can complete the rest during the journey.

We set out to find the cool rock formations in the Czech Republic called Adrspach rocks, but it wasn't easy to get there. We drove smoothly from Poland and across the Sudeten Mountains into the Czech Republic, but the road leading to Adrspach was closed.
