The hotel is still there and is now called Hotel President Budapest, Affiliated by Meliá. Yves Saint Laurant came to Marrakech in 1966 and fell in love with the colours and mystique. He bought a piece of derelict land and built a stunning Arabic-style park with water, small bridges, green plants and cacti. He himself lived here, and since his death in 2008 there is a memorial grove for him here. We visited the park and museum yesterday.

Today we visited Berbers in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. We booked a minibus trip from Marrakech with a guide in French, a stop with a Berber family, climbing up to a waterfall and (of course) ten thousand vendors who wanted to sell necklaces, pots, knives, fine stones, herbs, spices ... you name it.
