Updated: September 2026 | Karlberg Castle and Castle Park are located on the border between Solna and Stockholm, right next to the Karlberg Canal. Here you will find a beautiful 17th-century castle, a historic park, a runestone, a royal dog grave and several traces of Sweden's military history. For us, Karlberg is also part of everyday life - we live on a houseboat in Pampas marina nearby and often walk past.

M/S Molly is a charter boat located in the centre of Stockholm, and last Thursday evening I (Helena) was on board for dinner and a tour of the southern parts of the city. The hosts for the boat trip were the company Jetflite, which arranges chartered flights. A really, really nice trip!

Updated: October 2026 | Ivön and Bäckaskog Castle in Skåne is located just northeast of Kristianstad. We were here on a very rainy day in May, but despite the rainy weather we had a very nice day. We also spent a long time looking for a very special horse grave.

Updated: October 2026 | Åhus in northeastern Skåne is a charming little town with medieval quarters, fine sandy beaches and a very own ice cream history. The world-famous Absolut Vodka is also produced here, and along the coast old traditions of eel fishing and eel feasting live on. We have visited Åhus on several occasions and discovered both the city's attractions and the lovely beaches in the surroundings.

Updated: October 2026 | Absolut Home in Åhus was for a few years a visitor center where you could learn more about Absolut Vodka, take a guided tour and try mixing cocktails. We got to experience both The Åhus Villa, parts of the factory and a lunch in the fine villa. Since 2024, the visitor center has been closed to the public, but here we tell you about our visit and show pictures from the time when the business was open.
