Updated: October 2026 | The Koster Islands outside Strömstad are almost car-free and made to be discovered on foot and by bike. Here you will find barren cliffs, sandy beaches, small roads, lighthouses and one of Sweden's most special sea areas. We took our bikes on the Koster boat, hiked on Nordkoster and cycled around Sydkoster – and managed to experience both islands in the same day.

Updated: October 2026 | What is there to do on Dyrön in Bohuslän? We took the ferry from Rönnäng on Tjörn and spent a fantastic day on the car-free island. Here we hiked five kilometers along the Dyröleden trail, discovered the dramatic Dynes ravine and enjoyed the Bohuslän archipelago. Plus, we had shrimp sandwiches and egg cheese by the sea!
