The Blue Lagoon in Iceland offers a wonderful and relaxing spa in geothermal hot water. Although the Blue Lagoon has become a major tourist attraction, we highly recommend a visit here. The warm turquoise blue water and the contrastingly cool air give off a sense of calm that even the tourist crowds can't beat. The Blue Lagoon is a must!

We have now visited the Rhine Falls in Switzerland, or Rheinfall as it is called in German. This waterfall is Europe's largest and second widest, and here you can see impressive amounts of water flowing. To get here, we drove along the Grand Tour of Switzerland, that is, the beautiful road through Switzerland.

We have now visited Lucerne in Switzerland, and this is a city we really fell in love with! Besides being characterised by its beautiful old wooden bridges, the city is surrounded by beautiful mountains and lakes. We made our way to the top of Mount Pilatus, using the world's steepest rack-and-pinion railway.

We have now had the chance to try hang gliding in Interlaken, Switzerland. There was no doubt that Peter would agree to fly, but the question was whether I (Helena) was also prepared to throw myself into the air ...? The dramatic start of the day was then followed by a lovely boat trip on Lake Brienz, and a nice hike to a waterfall.

Gruyère in Switzerland is a mecca for cheese lovers. We drove the motorhome to Broc, where we tried chocolate in Maison Cailler. Then we continued to Gruyère, where we of course bought Swiss cheese and had a cheese fondue. Finally, we ended the day with some horror with the Alien Monsters at the Giger Museum ...

The Lavaux wine region in Switzerland is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of the vineyard terraces built by monks 800 years ago. Now this is a picturesque area with green vineyard terraces sloping steeply down to the green-blue lake, and small villages where family-owned vineyards are densely packed.
