Today I have visited Falu mine, at a conference. One thing I like about conferences is that they are often held in beautiful and interesting settings! Falun was designated by Unesco as world heritage 2001, due to the thousand-year-old mining and metal production.
The heyday of the 17th century
Ore mining in the Falu mine had its heyday in the 17th century, when Falun was an international city with 6,000 inhabitants. In midsummer 1687, the entire mine collapsed and Big shocks was formed.
Miraculously, no one was hurt because everyone was off work that day. Mining was closed down in 1992. Now the mine can be visited for guided tours, but also for conferences and other events.

Then I already have to do some advertising for the Christmas market that is usually held in the mining area, a little early perhaps, but well worth marking in the calendar 🙂 .

I have never been there. I've realised that I've taken far too few holidays in Sweden...

Kors och Tvärs, well we haven't really planned for a Christmas market yet... but I can imagine that it's a nice environment for it.
😉
Ama de casa, yes, there is a lot to see in Sweden... too bad it has to be so cold all the time while looking at all those things...
😉

Then you were almost at home with me 🙂 I lived in Falun for a year and am there quite often, when I live in Sweden that is. Was in the mine last summer with my two big kids. It is very nice!
