Houseboat residents - Life can't get any better!

It doesn't get much better than this! We unpack a box every now and then. But mostly we sit on the deck, enjoying the sun and listening to reggae. You don't want to miss such fantastic days. I hope you also had the opportunity to enjoy the summer heat!

Moving into the houseboat

Yesterday we completed the purchase of the houseboat at the broker and got the keys. Then it was time to move! We didn't have much to move, just boxes and some lights. But our houseboat is located at the far end of the dock, so it was still a lot of work to drive all the boxes out on a small cart.

The work also became a bit more complicated as there were some showers with heavy rain. Luckily, we had help from Robin and Alexandra. And now we are finally here, and the sun is shining!

Labour and celebration

First we carried heavy loads, and then of course we had to celebrate! Early in the evening we had roast beef and potato salad on deck. Later there were crayfish at our new kitchen table. It rocks softly and we already feel at home in our new accommodation!

Our first morning on the houseboat

This morning we woke up to fantastic weather! The sun is glistening in the water and the boat is gently rocking in its moorings. We are right at the entrance so we can enjoy watching all the boats going in and out. I also saw five small perch this morning when I opened the front door.

We're actually busy unpacking, but we're not rushing and are enjoying our new home. We just took our first swim from the boat. Peter jumped straight out of the boat, and I used our little swimming ladder.
