After a nice morning in the sun with our friends Åsa and Sverker in Cascais outside Lisbon, we headed south. We rolled over the 25 April bridge, named after revolution day, and continued on the motorway down to the Algarve coast. The first goal was to get some LPG! We weren't keen on getting a fourth LPG tube, so we listened to the tip about a refuelling station in Boliqueime.
Easy to fill LPG
Absolutely fantastic! Here we have had huge problems with LPG, especially in Spain, and suddenly everything is easy as pie. The guy at the station filled both our Swedish bottles and our French ones. So now we finally have plenty of LPG. Many thanks for the tip!
Difficult to find a pitch
But not everything is supposed to be easy ... We had seen that there would be a lot of work to be done. parking space in Albufeirabut went wrong several times. We can't set coordinates on our GPS, only addresses, and this often makes it difficult for us to find our way. Meanwhile, darkness was falling and we were running out of diesel. When we finally arrived ... it was full!
We were tired and did not manage to enter the address of a nearby campsite on the GPS, so now we are in a car park where it says "no camping". Not quite optimal perhaps ... It is important to move early tomorrow morning we guess!

Åsa says:
Nice that it went well with the driving and with the gas, but not with the camping ... hope you get a good night's sleep anyway and find a pitch or camping tomorrow! You look to get sun and heat in the next few days anyway and that makes it easier! / Åsa

Ditte says:
Nice to have the LPG issue out of the way, at least for a while. But sad that the campsite was full. But if you are there early tomorrow, maybe someone will leave and you will get a place, if you want to stay for a while. Otherwise, there is certainly some good camping further south towards the Spanish border.
Take care and hope you don't have a bad night's sleep.

Too bad the campsite was full, understand that you did not cheer about it 🙁 But great at least that it has worked out with the gas 😀.

Mr Steve says:
With the gas issue resolved, it is clear that the campsite was fully occupied. Not everything can run smoothly for a whole day. But you always find solutions, which is the most important thing.

Good that you got the gas fixed. Better weather too, I see now that I have been able to catch up on my reading. I think you have completed the "department of mischief" for this year and can look forward to nice days, good camping sites and nice experiences for the rest of the trip. Norrbotten hugs 🙂

Åsa, at least with LPG it's possible to fricamp!
🙂
Ditte, there are probably many campsites here! I'll find one today...!
Katarina, of course it is! Wishing you a great 2015!
Camilla, always a little trouble, but it works out...!
Steve, haha it's true! And we are happy that the gas issue is solved!
Rolle and Carina, that's enough for a while now!
Aila, thank you, we will do that!
Henny, yes it's definitely warmer and nicer weather now than earlier in the trip!

Congratulations on your filled gas bottles...The "Buffan" car park is located at the stadium. Go for the big headlights! But you've probably already solved it. You seem adept at fixing most things. Greetings Solan

Hello!
If I had been in your situation I would have travelled more west towards Lagos! In my opinion the most beautiful and authentic part of the Algarve coast!

Good luck!

JoY says:
Nice that you got gas, one less problem, you will certainly find campsites but it is no fun when you do not fit and you can not drive anymore. You have to sleep so you do not fall over the steering wheel and then it was good that you stopped despite the sign hihi

There are many places to choose from to stay. but with a GPS where you have difficulties with coordinates, it can be tricky. What kind of GPS do you have?
My tip is to talk to motorhome people and you'll get all the help you need.

Solveig, we found a pitch yesterday... but it was a DIFFERENT pitch! Today we have found the right one, the one you are talking about!
Tony, thanks for the tips! That sounds nice! If we had gas in the car, we probably would have started at that end and then headed east. Now we ended up starting here... don't know if we want to go back and turn around later, but we'll see!
Lena in Wales, great holiday! I have no idea how fast we are moving, but let's keep in touch and see!!!?
Yes, LPG has been a trickier problem ... so it was nice that it was solved! Of course, not good to drive when you are TOO tired! (And only Peter has a driving licence, so I can't solve it...)
Ama de casa, we didn't put the outdoor furniture next to the car... so as not to be provocative.
😉
Matts, maybe we are not so planned... maybe that's why, haha. It's stupid that you can't enter coordinates on our GPS, but it's built-in so we don't want to change now...
Nils-Åke, our GPS is a Pioneer. You can only enter street addresses on it and cities, not coordinates. It's built into the stereo, so we don't want to change it. But it's really stupid that you can't enter coordinates...
