Nothing is as romantic as travelling together? At the top of our list of romantic destinations is Zanzibar, the stunningly beautiful island off the coast of Tanzania. Here the water is crystal clear and it's easy to find places along the miles of beaches where you can enjoy the view without other tourists around. The hotels are reasonably sparse and there are plenty of small, cosy bungalows right by the sea.
Corsica
If you are instead looking for a romantic destination in Europe, we recommend the following Corsica! The cliffs are steep, the beaches white and there are plenty of charming restaurants overlooking the marinas. If you don't want to be crowded with too many other tourists, we recommend travelling in June, before the real high season starts.
Facts about romance and travel
In this infographic from the website Sinful.se, you can find some interesting facts about romance and travelling. It shows that 21% have proposed, or considered proposing, on holiday.
We took care of the proposal at home, but we actually got married on a trip to the UK. Vietnam! The ceremony took place at the Swedish Embassy in Hanoi (they had arranged super nice flowers and champagne in their garden) and then it was "honeymoon" with a boat trip in the amazingly beautiful Halong Bay and lazy pool days and shopping at the tailors in Hi An.
If a romantic getaway isn't enough to boost your romance, take a look at the website. Sinful.se - an online shop selling sex toys. What is your top tip for a romantic holiday destination?

Travelling is so romantic! It's probably because we travelled so much that we still stay together 😉 (Although we are realistic and realise that we are together because no one else wants us... 😉 ).

When love sprouts, any destination can probably be labelled romantic. That's why D and I have several romantic destinations even though we didn't have time to travel much together. But of course, now that I get to know Corsica through you, I would love to take D there.

Missing the campervan life, should be well displayed in several of the towns!
A way to live in freedom in beautiful places!
I remember when we visited Norrköping one weekend while there was a swingers party in the city.
We had many motorhome neighbours!

Zanzibar I have yet to visit. But my Romani destination is the atolls of Fiji where we got married barefoot at sunset during a cruise with the fantastic shipping company "Blu Lagoon Cruises", a shipping company with smaller boats. The cruise boat took 50 passengers, we were out for five days and went ashore on beautiful little islands where time stood still. We had cost us a good cabin but were upgraded to a luxury cabin.
Maldives was fantastic, but today too expensive and Sri Lanka I think also offers a romantic trip. Yes, there are many more places like Bali, Geeley Islands etc.
In Europe I am very fond of Corsica as a romantic destination and the Cinque Terre in Italy and Santorini in Greece.
It's great to hear your travel tips and read what people think.

Ojojoj, then you are busy busy now that you have a long holiday then! 😉
Zanzibar is very beautiful, I agree. However, I didn't find it romantic, but I was there as a single person too, so that's probably why. Italy has been mentioned here before and I also think Liguria and Tuscany are very romantic.

Ama de casa, oh wedding in Bali seems so romantic! Will of course check out the picture!
Steve, you are of course absolutely right! If you are in love, it will be romantic wherever you are! 🙂
Ditte, your description of the marriage sounds just too good to be true! 🙂 Incredibly romantic! Thanks for your other great tips! Many places that we have not been to actually.
Lennart, of course motorhome life can be romantic! 🙂 And haha, it sounds like a big swingers party 🙂.
Marie, haha yes, maybe you can see it that way? 😉 What you perceive as romantic varies, of course, not least depending on the travel company and the atmosphere! We have Italy in front of us, so it sounds promising! 🙂

I think it is quite individual which destination is perceived as romantic. I have been to Paris many times but feel that it is overrated when it comes to romance! Actually, I think that with the right company, there are many options 🙂 I liked Sicily a lot but Rome is certainly not wrong either ...

BP says:
You have to be romantically inclined to find the "right" place, and I don't think we are so much inclined in that direction.
For me/us it is enough to be in a beautiful place - much like the Corsica you describe.

Fun facts to read 🙂 Really agree that travelling is good for the relationship. We haven't been to any of those classic romantic places with miles of beaches etc, but I like that you create memories together when travelling that bring you closer together. Since we had children, we have been abroad twice without children, once in Berlin and once in Hamburg, both times to go to a concert and of course it will be a little more relaxing to be just us, but still prefer to travel all three together. 🙂

Znogge, completely agree!!! Both that some destinations are overrated and that a lot of different destinations can be experienced as romantic, depending on the person, occasion, etc.
BP, yes, you can of course ask what romantic means, and people probably perceive it differently. But a beautiful place is never wrong!
Alexandra, I agree with you! The most important thing for romance, and the relationship, is probably to have shared experiences, no matter where the journey takes you!

San Francisco is my city. Two weeks after we met, we were up at...
Coit Tower overlooking San Francisco Bay, and we kissed for the first time.
time. Got the engagement ring at a duck pond in Golden Gate Park, and...
Five months later we got married. We had almost 50 years together,
before the nasty "C" took him. You can find romance wherever and whenever you want.
find it.
When I was young, I thought it was the most romantic thing you could do,
was skiing in moonlight. A kiss on cold lips = romance 🙂 .
