Last night we enjoyed a lovely Friday evening with a potluck in the houseboat, together with Peter's son Robin and his wife Alexandra. We had a lovely evening with blue sky, good food and lots of talk and laughter.

We live relatively close to Peter's son Robin and his wife Alexandra, and yet it has been a relatively long time since we last met. Talk about having a lot to talk about when we met! We went through work and holidays and everything that we have been thinking about lately, for example when it comes to the blog. Lovely to be able to sit outside and above all fun to meet. A really nice Friday night in the houseboat!
Friday night with a potluck on deck
So what ended up at our potluck? It was a mixture of goodies such as biscuits, various cheeses, melon, strawberries, avocado salad, air-dried ham, salami, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, cheese pie and Greek country bread. We also grilled tuna, halloumi and asparagus. Of course, we had a little too much food, but that's okay. It's so good to pick and choose! How was your Friday night?

Here it was a meeting with friends in the evening and a nice balcony hangout with a lot to see in the canal. Full speed! And plenty of Spanish tapas to eat in the evening sun. The perfect place

So many goodies! And leftovers are both easy to prepare and delicious, so the fact that there was a lot of food doesn't matter at all 🙂 .
We went out and ate tapas with good friends and we didn't have a bad time either.

Perfect when everyone brings something, it usually becomes so interesting, everyone can be surprised! And it looked really yummy, great that there will be a repeat of it. Some reruns you are happy to participate in!
We were calm too, hectic school week, the son stressed because there are only two weeks left now and lots of tests for him to pass all subjects so he can move on to grade eight in the Spanish school.
We enjoyed a cheese and ham pie (always make two while I'm at it so there will be a repeat of that!) with salad and I had a good wine with it. Afterwards we ate apple pie with vanilla ice cream, it was a very long time since I baked a dessert pie! There will be a small reprise of it too.

Understand that it is stressful for the son! Hope it will be good for him! Sounds super tasty with homemade pies! 🙂 And completely agree. It does not matter that there are leftover goodies so you can get a repeat!

How wonderful to be able to sit outside and also on a boat to eat and socialise. Somehow the owners often say that the food tastes better outside, strange, it's the same food....
My owners also ate a lot of pickings yesterday. They went to a restaurant for tapas.

For us, it was an evening of grocery shopping and some preparation, but now we are preparing for a lovely barbecue for the neighbours, 12 people in total. It is not often that the problem is that it is too hot to sit outside and eat. Now we can start with drinks and snacks in the shade, so maybe the temperature will drop to 25?? before it's time for food.... Wonderful....

Oh my goodness! It just looks so delicious. Absolutely marvellous! Such summer meals and pictures are nice to pick out of the memory during the dark seasons. At Getingstorp there was a cheese plate as a Friday dinner. Outdoors of course.
