Safety on the blog, ducklings and a new hat

Then it was Friday again, and time to think about the best part of the week. The best thing for us was that Peter came home on Thursday evening, from the island where he had been working for almost two weeks. Great! Other good things are that we finally got better security on the blog, that the ducklings in the marina are so cute that you want to adopt them and that we got a new ... hat!

About security on the blog

If you tried to check the blog on Wednesday, you probably realised that we were having problems. The blog was shut down in the early morning, and could not be restarted until the evening. The reason? We had received malware via external attacks. Nasty! For security reasons, the web host shut down the blog until we resolved the problem. Fortunately, our talented web developer was available the same day. Fantastic! A big THANK YOU to him!

To protect us from future attacks, we have installed a security add-on, added a reCAPTCHA for comments and moved the blog to https, which is a secure version of http. We hope that this will keep the blog secure going forward, and that commenting will still be easy!

Ducks and ducklings

Being home alone all week has been a bit sad, but you can't help but be happy when you see the duck family we have in the marina right now.

If I had wanted to, I probably wouldn't have had to be home alone either. A female duck was very interested in visiting earlier this week.

New cap

Last but not least, we have to tell you that we got a new hat! Now it may not be completely The right time of year for a hat, but who cares when it says 'FREEDOM' on it? Camilla, who runs the blog Active days & important breaks cleaned the cupboards at home and found a hat that she thought would fit better with ... us. Big THANK YOU Camilla!

What has been the best part of your week?
