The beach basket challenge
The beach basket challenge is a motorhome tour organised by the German Tourist Board in cooperation with the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's tourist board TMV, Northern Europe's largest shipping company Stena Line and FREEDOMtravel. The trip is organised to highlight the beautiful route that runs from Gothenburg to Kiel, through Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (including Rügen) and then back via Sassnitz to Hamburg. Trelleborg.
Participants are ready
We sought a number of participants via a blog post and the interest was very high. Great fun! At the same time, it feels a bit hard that we can't bring the all. We read all the justifications before sending them to the German Tourist Board, and there were really lots of great justifications from amazing people we would like to meet!
Now the participants have been selected, and if you not received an email that you have been selected, so unfortunately you can't join us this time. However, a little bird has whispered to us that more German regions are interested in showing off their great routes, so if we're lucky, there will be another trip next spring! Here are the ones who are joining us this year:

Prepare for the trip!
If you are joining the trip, you need to be prepared for departure from Gothenburg on the evening of 24 May, as you need to be there with your motorhome. We will return with more information by e-mail. If you have any questions, you can of course contact us at kontakt@freedomtravel.se.

We will of course share our experiences and hope to find lots of nice gems to recommend! Some of the other participants also have blogs, we'll get back to you on that when it gets closer!

We can only wish those of you who have had the privilege of joining us a really fun and eventful journey. We'll follow along via blogs and maybe follow in your footsteps for a while. We have been talking about Germany's Baltic Sea coast for years, so close but still we have never been there.
Now we are on our way to the flight in Alicante and I have the new feeling of coming home and having 11! weeks of almost blank almanac before I promised to work as a holiday substitute....
