New virus variant affects travelling

The new virus variant, omicron, is of concern and may affect travel recommendations and restrictions. Currently, anyone who has travelled to South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia or Eswatini (Swaziland) is advised to be tested immediately after entry and after five days, and to stay at home for seven days. As of 1 December, all passengers over the age of 18 travelling with Tallink Silja from Stockholm are required to have a covid certificate. This is to help stop the spread of covid-19, which is now increasing again in many countries. Passengers travelling on any of Tallink Silja's ships need to present one of the following covid certificates before boarding:

  • Vaccination certificate for 2 doses of vaccine
  • Certificate of negative COVID-19 test
  • Certification that the traveller has recovered from COVID-19 in the last 6 months.

United Airlines returns to Arlanda with direct flights to New York

United Airlines is the only American airline to return to Stockholm Arlanda Airport for the 2022 summer season with a direct route to Newark, New York. From its hub, the airline offers 58 direct connections to destinations across America. The route will be operated daily starting 14 May 2022, with a Boeing 757-200.

BRA launches new flight route from Bromma to Helsinki

BRA is launching a route between Stockholm-Bromma and Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, which will be its second international route after the pandemic. The new route between Stockholm and Helsinki, with good transfer possibilities to and from BRA's other domestic routes, will open on 24 February 2022. The route will have a round trip every day of the week except Saturdays.

Vasaloppet wins Stora Turismpriset 2021.

In competition with well-known visitor destinations such as Gröna Lund, Icehotel and the Medieval Week in Visby, Vasaloppet has been selected as the winner of the Stora Turismpriset 2021. For the 28th year in a row, the Swedish Tourism Prize is awarded to an actor who has contributed to the development of the hospitality industry in a new and innovative way. Camping cinema will tour in 2022 - Stacky's will be main partner

The event concept Camping cinema will embark on a nationwide tour of Sweden in the summer of 2022, visiting 30-35 campsites. Campingbio is free and offers visitors fun activities and film screenings under the open sky. Stacky's is now presented as the main partner of Campingbio. Stacky's is smarter plant-based food from Sweden, made from Swedish ingredients without any additives. Stacky's will offer visitors a taste test and tell them more about smarter food.

Skånetrafiken launches Christmas tickets

This year, people in Skåne can travel to Christmas celebrations, midday sales or sledding hills using the Christmas ticket, which is valid for 24 days. The ticket gives free travel throughout Skåne between 17 December and 9 January for SEK 399.
