The city of Gothenburg is one of the most visited cities in Sweden, which is not surprising as there is so much to do and see when you visit. We have produced a small mini-guide for those who are planning to visit Gothenburg.

Casino Cosmopol

Liseberg

Liseberg is one of Europe's top amusement parks and the largest in the Nordic region. Liseberg has up to 3 million visitors annually. Liseberg has lots of rides, game houses, performances and great restaurants. Liseberg is definitely a must when visiting Gothenburg and is perfect for all ages.

Universeum

Universeum is Sweden's national science centre and is located right next to Liseberg. Inside the Universeum you will see the waterway, the aquarium hall, the reptile, the rainforest, the technology library, space, health and the chemistry lab. A perfect place for anyone who wants to learn while travelling.

Avenue

Avenyn is probably the most famous street in Gothenburg and if you miss it, you have missed Gothenburg. Avenyn offers not only a lovely walk but also incredibly good restaurants in abundance, bars and great shopping. At the top of the street you will find perhaps the most symbolic statue in Gothenburg, Poseidon with a view of the heart of Gothenburg.

Haga

Haga is one of Gothenburg's oldest districts and one of the most cosy areas of the city. Here you will find an incredible number of small shops and cafés. Plenty of restaurants. Here you can just enjoy a walk and look at the fantastic architecture in the neighbourhood. 

Fishing church

Fishing church in Gothenburg is a must especially for seafood lovers. Here you will find fresh fish and seafood with fantastic restaurants serving traditional dishes from the sea.

Gothenburg archipelago - Björkö Sealodge

If you are ever going to visit Gothenburg, it is almost a must to visit one of all the islands that Gothenburg has to offer. Björkö is one of them.

Björkö Sealodge is located at the bottom of the harbour and has several apartments for rent with incredible views of the harbour and even beautiful sunsets. Hike the Björkö hiking trail and finish with a swim in the sea. The best time to visit the island is in summer.

Beerbliotek Brewery

If you like beer then Gothenburg is the right city because Gothenburg has several microbreweries around the city and one of the favourites is Beerbliotek Brewery.

Located in the heart of Majorna, Beerbliotek Brewery gives you the chance to try new beers that you won't find anywhere else.

The Garden Association

Trädgårdsföreningen is one of Europe's most well-preserved 19th century parks. The park has been around for over 175 years and is one of the most visited parks in Gothenburg.

The Rosarium, Palm House, events and restaurants are not to be missed when visiting the park.
