Swedish National Culinary Team's silver menu at Viking Cinderella this spring

On 12 February it was the premiere of the Swedish National Culinary Team's award-winning three-course menu on board the Baltic Sea cruiser Viking Cinderella. Through the collaboration between Viking Line and the national team, it is now possible for a wider audience to taste the silver menu from the World Cup in Luxembourg. Cinderella sails every evening from Stadsgårdskajen in Stockholm to Mariehamn and back. The menu consists of a starter with pike-perch, main course with duck breast and an apple dessert and is served daily from 12 February to 13 May 2023.

Three new bullet ice cream flavours from SIA Glass

For this year's ice cream bar season, SIA Glass presents three new ice cream flavours: Popcorn Burnt Butter with a strong organic feel, the updated classic Salt Knäck and an ingenious flavour combo - Crushed Chocolate. As always, the ice cream is made with Swedish fresh cream from farms in Halland, including Berte Gård, which is part of the Berte Group's ecosystem together with SIA Glass and Berte Qvarn.

Where Swedes go on Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day, the holiday of the year for romantics, is just around the corner. Many of Europe's beautiful cities are perfect for celebrating Valentine's Day with a loved one. London, Paris and Barcelona are the most popular destinations, all within easy reach for a long weekend. This is where Swedes are travelling for Valentine's Day, according to Ticket:

Ryanair launches two new routes from Arlanda airport

Ryanair continues to develop traffic at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Two more routes and a new aircraft are now being added, while existing routes are getting extended timetables for the summer season. With these, eight new routes have started since October 2022 and in total Ryanair will now operate 45 routes to and from Arlanda. Of the eight new routes in 2022-2023 is Birmingham, Malta, Pisa, Turin, Tuzla and Valencia are already in service, while two new routes will debut this spring and summer:

  • Arlanda - Dublin starts on 26 March
  • Arlanda - Porto starts on 4 June

Where Swedes want to travel for food

When Swedes choose which country they want to travel to for food, Italy, Greece and Thailand come out on top, according to a new survey by HelloFresh and YouGov. But with high costs, travelling abroad can feel like a distant prospect. Now, HelloFresh is launching the "World Kitchen" concept, which consists of premium recipes that allow Swedes to try new and exciting recipes from around the world. Swedes want to travel here for the food:

  2. Greece, Thailand
  3. Spain
  4. France
  5. USA, Japan

Nordic Museum celebrates 150 years with an anniversary event

This year, the Nordic Museum 150 years and is celebrating with anniversary tours, concerts, special events and anniversary passes to the museum's five destinations: the Nordic Museum on Djurgården, Julita farm and gardens, Tyresö castle and park, Svindersvik sommarnöje and Härkeberga kaplansgård. During Culture Night Stockholm on 22 April, festivities will continue until midnight with free admission. The anniversary programme will be published on nordiskamuseet.se.

Where do we prefer to travel for food? For us, France is high on the list. We also love the food in countries with meze and other types of light meals, such as Turkey and Cyprus. When it comes to Asian food, Vietnam is a favourite.
