New Year celebrations, cooking and cooperation

It's January 2024, the snow is drifting off our houseboat and the wind is whimsically blowing through our home. We've celebrated New Year with friends and then spent the week cooking and working. Here we tell you a bit about everyday life with FREEDOMtravel. Happy Friday!

New Year celebrations

On Sunday evening, we, like many others, celebrated in the the new year. We did this with dinner at the home of our good friends Lennart and Beata. Very nice!

For once, we managed to make just the right amount of food. Each couple contributed two small starters and two small mains, and no one knew what the others had planned, so the menu was a bit of a surprise. This was served:

• Starter 1: Shrimp, avocado and mango salad
• Starter 2: Prawn soup on prawn shells
• Main course 1: Scallops with risotto
• Main course 2: Double marinated Iberico fillet with baked sweet potatoes

There was also a slightly sweet ending. Very good we can promise!

All in for cooking

The rest of the week we have been at home, just going out for shopping and running errands. The is nice to get out, but the snow is really dizzy sometimes and you have to get out before it gets dark, because then you lose your motivation completely ...

At least Peter hasn't lost his motivation for cooking. When he takes time off from work, he can sit for hours in front of different cooking videos and watch how to make different sauces and dishes. "I (Helena) don't have the same interest, but I like to eat his good food, so I'm really lucky. This week, among other things, he has offered a homemade lasagne that was absolutely awesome. Mum!

Jobs and meetings

Of course, we also work, and this week we have had a video meeting with a new partner, which will be really fun to work with. We will help them with visibility here at FREEDOMtravel, and since it is a destination that we have visited several times and like very much, it feels extra fun.

In addition, we have been working hard on the launch of our new logo, in conjunction with the our 15th anniversary. We also released a story about this in our press room on Mynewsdesk, which we use to reach out to journalists, businesses and others. Take a look if you want to see what it looks like!

Best this week

Best thing this week? Well, it's that we have started this new year, which we hope will be really good! For our part, we are also pleased that we got our new logo up. Sometimes it's nice to have a little change! Your turn ... what has been the best part of your week?

The week ahead

We're still at home in Stockholm and not travelling anywhere yet, although we are starting to prepare for our big trip to South Africa at the end of January.
