Overlooking the Dnieper River, the Kiev Cave Monastery is one of Kiev's main attractions. The history of the monastery dates back to the 11th century, when Christianity was introduced to Kiev. In this cave monastery, also called Kievo-Pechersky Lavra, monks lived in underground cave systems, where they are now buried in glass tombs.

Yesterday we moved to Hotel Ukraina here in Kiev. Nice with a little change! A little walk with the bags over Independence square in Kiev ... Our new hotel is big and grand, but at the same time it is a bit Eastern European.

Oh, it's so much fun to go shopping in Ukraine! There aren't as many chains as in other European cities, but lots of small shops. The most fun is walking around Metrograd, a huge underground mall that stretches between several metro stations. Here you can find everything from clothes and shoes to interior design, gifts and all sorts of unexpected items.
