Updated: August 2026 | The spring ”Syri i Kaltër”, Blue eye, or blå ögat in Swedish is located in southern Albania, not far from the city of Saranda. We drove here directly after our visit to Butrint, and must say that the road towards the mountains is beautiful throughout.

Updated: August 2026 | The Cathedral of Otranto is one of the most fascinating churches we have visited in Italy. It has a famous mosaic floor from the 12th century, but also a martyrs' chapel where the relics of around 800 people who were killed after the Ottoman conquest of Otranto in 1480 are kept behind glass. We visited the cathedral during our motorhome trip through Puglia – and at the same time had the opportunity to discover the charming coastal town of Otranto.

The caves of Neptune, or Grotta di Nettuno as they are called in Italian, are located outside Alghero in Sardinia. Neptune's caves were discovered by fishermen in the 19th century and the cave system is one of the most famous on the island. A lovely boat trip took us there and it was very convenient in the summer heat. Come to the Neptune Caves in Sardinia!

In huge old limestone quarries, works of art are projected onto walls, columns and floors, while the rooms are filled with music. When we visited the place, we were able to step right into works by Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael. We were completely captivated.
