Happy Friday! Yesterday we went to an inspirational event about Zadar in Croatia - interesting! I (Helena) have also given myself a new migraine medicine, which means that I will take an injection every month. That will also be interesting!

Inspiration about Zadar in Croatia

Yesterday we were invited to an event where the region of Zadar in Croatia presented itself. We have travelled a lot in Croatiabut we have missed Zadar, so it was interesting. Here is the historic city of Zadar, and the surrounding area includes the island of Pag, which can be reached by bridge, and the long narrow islands outside the city.

Zadar has in 2019 been named by Lonely Planet as one of the Top 10 cities to visit this year, and looks fantastic with its old town centre. On the outer islands there are unusually many sandy beaches (for Croatia), there are plenty of outdoor activities and they have a very good cheese, which we got to try! In May (this year 10-12 May) there is also an outdoor festival for everyone, including hiking, cycling, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding.

As usual, there was some mingling, and we met Marlene from the lifestyle magazine. You in focus and the blog Former Single Mum. Nice!

New migraine medicine

If you have been following this blog for a while, you may know that I (Helena) suffer from a miserable migraine, which can really cause problems sometimes. Now I'm going to try a new medicine! Aimovig has shown relatively good results in studies (80 per cent respond to the medicine to some extent, a quarter of which are really good).

The medicine is taken preventively, as an injection once a month. The first time you are assisted by a nurse, and then you do it on your own. I was not completely comfortable before, but it was a pen (like for diabetics roughly) and no problem really.

The medicine is terribly expensiveBut thanks to the high cost protection, you only have to pay a fraction. I thank society for the rest! Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed that it will have some effect ...
