Then we leave Italy with a mixed taste in our mouths. The weather has been wonderful all the time, just what you want, but the food is not great and it's expensive. 500 SEK for each night on a campsite, and it's almost a requirement from two teenage boys that there should be a pool and other fun things. Then we also have Italians who have patience on the outside, honking and shouting at everything, fun people. We have to take our pitches and do it at the right price, when the teenagers grow up.

Accommodation in Austria

After the visit to the Italian playa we set the GPS to a place in the Czech Republic and find out that it is 89 miles, so we have to spend the night in Austria. We find a place on the road that is a sports centre, 7 tennis courts, a football pitch, spa, beach volleyball, etc. It is called Kremsmunster and is located south of Linz. It was not a great place, but it was very good to stop for a night on the road.

Charging for further travel

I (Peter) washed the car, stocked up on everything necessary, slept for a few hours and continued towards Czech Republic. The GPS said that we were going to drive 20 miles and that it would take four and a half hours, you wouldn't believe it, that I would drive fifty kilometres for four hours. There were small roads and a lot of traffic, and a lot of lorries, so of course it took time but it was damn nice to drive on small roads without pushing at 130 knots.

Nynäshamn next time

We took the opportunity to check how far it is between Gdansk and the Mediterranean in Italy, and it was 180 kilometres, if you go from Nynäshamn. If you go across Germany, it's 300 miles, so it's the same money with boats and fees, but you drive a lot less and you have more time for holidays. So it will be Nynäshamn next time.

The "service house" at the campsite in Austria - ok for a night's stay, but no more.
