Jogersö camping and sea bathing – year-round camping in Oxelösund

Updated: October 2026 | Jogersö camping is located near the sea and nice walking areas in Oxelösund, not far from Nyköping. The campsite, which is now called Jogersö Eco Camp, is open all year round. We visited it with our camper van during an October weekend in 2017, when we wanted to combine work with a change of scenery and walks by the sea.

Jogersö camping – a change of scenery with a campervan

Sometimes you don't have to travel very far to get a little change. When we visited Jogersö, we both had a lot of work to do in front of our computers and decided to take our work with us on a camping weekend.

Since it was October, many campsites had closed for the season. Jogersö therefore became an interesting alternative: a year-round campsite with nature and the sea within easy walking distance.

We had imagined it would be quite empty, but we were met with both motorhomes and caravans. Some were set up for longer stays, while others rolled in and out during the afternoon and evening. Camping life continued here even when the summer was over!

Staying at Jogersö Eco Camp

Jogersö Eco Camp is located on the island of Jogersö, which is connected by bridge to the rest of Oxelösund. It offers campsites for motorhomes, caravans and tents, as well as cabins and glamping accommodations.

There are two service buildings on the site with toilets and showers. There is also a kitchen, dishwashing facilities and washing machines. For overnight camping guests, there is the possibility to fill water and empty grey water and latrines.

The campsite also offers special pitches adjacent to the camping area. When booking, it is therefore a good idea to check which type of pitch you choose and what is included.

When we arrived here in 2017, we received a nice welcome and thought the service worked well. However, the grass was really wet, so we chose a gravel spot to avoid the risk of sinking with the camper.

Camping also during autumn and winter

Jogersö is still open year-round, but operations are adjusted according to the season. According to the campsite's information for autumn 2026, the sites used during autumn, winter and spring are on stable gravel or asphalt.

The Måsen service building is fully open, while Fjärilen has a simpler and cooler section with toilets, showers and water refills. The reception staff is more limited than during the summer.

If you are planning a winter stay, it is wise to check the arrival procedures and which motorhome services are available. Latrine emptying is described in the winter information, but the availability of greywater emptying during the winter is not as clear.

Jogersö sea bath – close to the campsite

About 250 meters from the campsite is Jogersö havsbad, which is described as Södermanland's largest sea beach. Here you will find a sandy beach, bathing jetties and diving towers, as well as green areas where you can sit down.

We visited the place in the fall and didn't swim, but enjoyed walking by the water. Even in October, there were people out walking, and the environment felt far from abandoned even though the swimming season was over.

In the summer, the place takes on a different character. Then the beach attracts bathers and there is an ice cream kiosk open in the summer. For those traveling with dogs, there is also a special dog bath on Jogersö.

It is precisely the proximity between camping, beach and nature that we think is the great advantage of the location. You can leave the camper and be down by the sea quite soon.

Walks and activities on Jogersö

Jogersö is also suitable for those who want to get some exercise between meals or work shifts. There are exercise trails in the forest, including 2.5 and 5 kilometer loops.

During our visit we were content to walk around and look around. It was nice to be able to take breaks from the computers, get some fresh air and then return to the camper. For those who want to find more, there are several activities in the area:

• Minigolf just outside the campsite.
• Kayak and SUP rental at the seaside.
• High altitude railway in Oxelösund Adventure Park.
• Bicycle rental via the campsite.

Opening hours and booking options vary between activities and throughout the year. Of course, not everyone needs an activity program either – a walk by the sea and a quiet moment in the camper can be enough.

Food and coffee near the seaside

At Jogersö there is today Paus Catering & Restaurang Jogersö, with a focus on catering and events. During the summer the restaurant also opens for spontaneous visits, with the opportunity to eat lighter dishes on the terrace near the sea.

There are also ice cream shops open at the beach during the summer. However, during the off-season it is a good idea to plan your meals and check what is open.

We ourselves appreciate the ability to cook in the camper. This makes a camping weekend work well even when the summer restaurants are closed.
