Glashuset Restaurang & Bar in Stockholm offers a lovely environment with glass walls, greenery and outdoor seating, on Strandvägen in Östermalm. Here we ate very good food and had a very nice evening.

Glashuset Restaurant & Bar
The building that houses the Glashuset Restaurant & Bar once started as an architect-designed restaurant. mackdesigned by architect Peter Celsing. After housing many different businesses, the building was transformed in 2018 into a restaurant and brasserie, with a dining room, bars and outdoor seating. We were here at the weekend to celebrate Peter's eldest son's mum's birthday. It was a very nice evening!
Glashuset Restaurang & Bar is located at Kajplats 18, on Strandvägen in central Stockholm.
Nice location on Strandvägen
Glashuset Restaurang & Bar is beautifully located along the waterfront on Strandvägen. When it's hot, you can sit on the outdoor seating, and when it's chilly, you can move into the almost greenhouse-like environment.
Outside are boats and ships of all kinds. You'll find everything from passenger ships to exclusive luxury yachts.
A tasty dinner - that ended up filling you up
At Glashuset Restaurant & Bar you can choose between dishes described as "Smaller" and dishes described as "Bigger". Snacks and desserts are also available.
In our group, some chose two "smaller" dishes while others chose a "bigger" one. Peter chose red shrimp and langos with mushrooms and truffles, which were two of the smaller dishes. Very good according to him!
I (Helena) chose char, which was a dish described as "bigger". The char was really very good and the accompaniments were very fresh and fit perfectly. Unfortunately, I was not even close to full.
The mountain under the fish may look big, but apart from some microscopic potatoes, the pile consisted only of sliced and rolled cucumber, fennel and pesto. This was by all means very goodbut when I finished everything, I was still very hungry ...
When the others started choosing among the tasty desserts, I chose instead to order one of the largest "smaller" dishes, a langos. This was a little more substantial and yes, now I was (reasonably) full!
A pleasant evening
We had a very nice evening! The photo below shows from the left Peter's oldest son Robin, Robin's mum Jeanette, Robin's half-sister Felicia, Robin's wife Alexandra and Peter. When we were (finally) full and satisfied, we left our place and continued to restaurant Tako, where we hung out in the bar for a few hours.

Glashuset Restaurant & Bar is a very nice place for a drink or a bite to eat. The service was excellent and all dishes tasted very good. We send a little note that we would have liked a larger portion of the char!

I have actually "been to" Glashuset Restaurang & Bar. Although it was at that time that it was a petrol station 😀 Refueled Skansen's pickup before I drove to Uppsala and picked up a silver fox. They were very helpful at the petrol station - they helped me find the fuel cap on the car which was very strange 😉.

My reaction was identical to Ama's, I remember the place as a Shell petrol station, but have never filled up there.
The food was definitely a feast for the eyes that also want to enjoy, but too bad if the dishes did not saturate. It is not exactly cheap to eat out, and then you want value for money.

We have also been there when there was a petrol station😊, we walked late one evening and enjoyed Strandvägen and bought with us a little in the hand to eat because such things existed, then Jan Malmsjö's wife Marie came in and shopped wearing a dressing gown or bathrobe perhaps it is called late evening😌. I thought it was fun to be so relaxed in the city, they live close so maybe frequent visits when they got hungry for something. So fun that it is a restaurant now, had no idea. Good to know. And it looks good.
PS, I am very often "affected" by celebrities from royalty to artists. Is very cool then😄so they often start talking to me. A little fun it is and cheers up. Have a nice weekend.

What a cosy evening you seemed to have had! Too bad the portions were small. Either you were unlucky or they have improved. We were there in February and were sooo happy. And stuffed. We still ordered a dessert (to share) because it seemed good. Even though we shared and it was delicious, we couldn't finish it.
