If you peeked into our living room right now, you'd be in for a shock. It is chaos. We are preparing for the motorhome fair in Kista on 18-20 March, and there are a lot of boxes and stuff everywhere. Imagine how much work it can be to prepare for a fair!

Significantly larger project this time
We have participated in fairs before as well, with a small stand where we tell about freedomtravel.se. Sometimes we have also offered brochures from some of our partners, such as the German Tourist Board or Czech Tourism. This year, at the Motorhome Sthlm 2022we've been beating the big drum, so now it's something completely different.
Mount
We will have a very larger stand than we usually have, as we have to fit in a 'Destination Square'. So how do you decorate a large stand? You need an exhibition wall, which has to be designed and ordered. Do you need a carpet? A table? Measurement stands? Lighting? TV screens? Electricity? Where should you store things you need to replenish later? The questions are many as well as all prices to be compared.
Products
We will, of course, bring our products and gifts, especially the caravan theme, and to some extent also with caravan theme. How much to bring? What prices to set? How should the products be displayed?
We have decided to keep really good fair prices. In some cases, the prices will be significantly lower than the discount prices in the webshop. In some cases they are only slightly lower or the same (but without shipping!). We have also bought different types of baskets at Granit, hope it will work!
How do you pay? You will be able to pay by swish or card. To be able to pay by card, we have ordered terminals from Nets. We need to test these before fair. We haven't got round to it yet, but it's on the to-do list!
Exhibition magazine
Our physical magazine, which we published last summer, will be available at the fair. However, as it is a reprint, we have changed some of the adverts. Only that has been a big job of course, and now we are waiting for the reprint to arrive!
Exhibitors in the Destination Square
As I said, we will have a "Destination centre" in our stand, and that means we will showcase different destinations - both in Sweden and Europe. A whole bunch has caught on!
Each destination is allowed to showcase their destination with brochures and catalogues in a stand, and some have also chosen to be there to talk and answer questions (or hand out goodie bags or prizes!). Just organising this, oh my! We promise there have been many emails and phone calls ...
Lectures
We will give a total of 6 different lectures. These take a long time to prepare, with photos, facts, funny anecdotes... We're not done yet, but we're well on our way! Do you want to know which lectures we will be giving? Here you will find the programme with the 6 lectures.
Press releases
During the fair, we will present several news and surprises. Of course we want to issue press releases! These will of course be discussed, written, discussed and discussed... So far we have sent out a press release about BestPark.
Transport and staffing ...
Last but not least, there are all the logistical issues. How do we transport all the hundreds of boxes of products and brochures to the fair? Where do we store them, since we can't fit everything on the stand at once? How do we staff the stand (so that we can give lectures and talk to visitors)? There will probably be more questions, but we have booked a trailer, and we have two people who will help us at the stand!

I understand that you have recovered now and can deal with everything that needs to be organised for the fair. It's nice to have a big stand. Get a soft thick rubber mat and a change of shoes, it's worth its weight in gold when you stand from morning to evening. Admittedly, you probably run around a lot, but it usually feels in your legs and feet.

Yes, thank you, we are feeling better. Have taken an antigen test which showed negative. Now we have taken a PCR test as well, and keep our fingers crossed that it also shows negative. Thanks for the tip with the shoes, of course there will be a lot of standing and walking!!!

Having had three jobs where I was responsible for fairs, I know exactly how much work it is. Sure, it's fun once it's done, but before that there's a lot to think about. It is best to make a list and tick it off, otherwise you will forget half of it. The list can then be reused at future fairs.

Here the spring cold has started to release its grip (thankfully covid neg) so on Thursday the train goes to Stockholm and the fair. It will be really fun but we understand that you have to do so enough and will be over....
