It was time again! It wasn't long ago that we celebrated my (Helena's) 50th birthday, and now it was time to celebrate Peter's 65th. Our birthdays are less than a week apart and there is almost exactly 15 years between us.

Corsica at last!

Two days before Peter's birthday we took Ferry from Nice to Corsicaand then we drove on winding roads to the charming little village Saint-Florence.

Our second visit to Corsica

We have been to Corsica with the motorhome once before - exactly ten years ago - and ever since then we have been longing to return. Peter, in particular, has been dreaming of revisiting this marvellous island, so it was only right to plan his birthday here!

We went camping Callisthenics, which is in an excellent location in Saint-Florent and has 10-ampere electricity pylons, which we need to power our portable AC ... Great!

Camping and Moules Frites

For Peter's birthday, it was a relaxed camping holiday including sunbathing and swimming on the beaches of Saint-Florent.

Peter has also talked about how he remembers that - ten years ago - we ate Moules Frites somewhere in town, while looking out over the boats. He wanted to experience this again! So it was mussels with French fries and a large strong at the restaurant The Grill while we enjoyed the view.

Could it even have been in the same restaurant as last time? We checked the 'photo album' (i.e. the blog!) and found a picture showing that it may well have been exactly the same place... or possibly just next door?

Milkshakes and delicacies

In the afternoon we thought we would treat ourselves to an ice cream, but it was sooo hot so we had an ice cold milkshake instead. Fantastically good!

What about in the evening? We thought that a visit to a restaurant would be enough, but instead we picked up some exclusive products in the motorhome. Among other things, we had a jar of foie gras and a small bottle of Sauternes wine, that is, sweet white wine from the Sauternes appellation in the wine region Bordeaux.
