What is it like to stay in a hotel in Uzbekistan?
In Uzbekistan, as in most other countries, there are lots of different hotels of different standards and in different price ranges. You can use booking sites and booking apps, whether you want to stay in a luxury hotel or take in small, basic accommodation. We'll tell you about the hotels in Uzbekistan we've stayed in or visited!
Hotels in Tashkent
We have visited the capital Tashkent twice, staying in a total of two different hotels, both of which were excellent.
# The Tower Hotel
The first time we visited Tashkent we stayed at The Tower Hotel, which we found to be both luxurious and pleasant. The hotel is relatively close to both the airport and the city centre.
- Address: 40 Kichik Beshagach Street, Tashkent
- Rum: There are 96 rooms in different price categories. We were satisfied with both the room and the bathroom.
- Breakfast: Breakfast buffet, but as we had to leave early in the morning, we got breakfast in a small box. We were happy with this!
- Service: Gym, sauna, indoor pool and simple lounge bar.

# Wyndham Garden Tashkent
During our last visit to Tashkent we stayed at Wyndham Garden Tashkent, and here we especially appreciated the fantastic breakfast! This hotel is even closer to the airport than The Tower Hotel, but slightly less central to the city.
- Address: Qushbegi massive 11A, Tashkent
- Rum: 103 rooms in different price ranges. We were very satisfied with our room in this hotel.
- Breakfast: An amazing breakfast buffet with very high quality and delicacies such as quail eggs, pancake rolls with feta cheese and delicious pastries. When we were here, live music was also played during breakfast.
- Service: Restaurant, bar, fitness centre, spa and indoor pool.

Hotels in Samarkand
Samarkand is one of the most popular destinations in Uzbekistan, and we have been here no less than three times. In total, we have stayed in two different hotels, but also visited a few others.
# Wellness Park Hotel Bactria
On our first visit to Samarkand we stayed at the hotel Bactria, located in the modern tourist area of Silk Road Samarkand Tourist Centre. It is home to a number of large hotels and conference centres, and you will need a car or taxi to get to the centre of Samarkand from here.
- Address: Silk Road Samarkand Tourist Centre, Samarkand
- Rum: 92 rooms and 19 suites. We had an excellent room which we were very happy with.
- Breakfast: Large breakfast buffet with plenty to choose from.
- Service: Restaurant, bar and fitness centre.

# Savitsky Plaza
In the same area as Bactria, i.e. Silk Road Samarkand Tourist Centre, the hotel is Savitsky Plaza. We have not stayed here, but we have visited the hotel thanks to their beer brewery - you can both go on a guided tour and order a sample tray with different types of beer.
- Address: Silk Road Samarkand Tourist Centre, Samarkand
- Rum: 175 rooms and 27 suites.
- Breakfast: Breakfast buffet.
- Service: Gym, restaurant, bar and beer brewery.

# Hilton Samarkand Regency
As mentioned, there are many hotels in the tourist area of Samarkand and another one we visited - but did not stay in - is Hilton Samarkand Regency. This hotel offers a rooftop bar with views for miles.
- Address: Silk Road Samarkand Tourist Centre, Samarkand
- Rum: Many rooms and suites in different price ranges.
- Breakfast: Breakfast buffet.
- Service: Restaurant, rooftop bar, indoor pool and fitness centre.

# De Villa Hotel
During our last two visits to Samarkand we have stayed at The Villa Hotel, which has a much more central location. It is a good starting point for visiting the city's attractions.
- Address: Siyab st 14, Samarkand
- Rum: 33 rooms in different price ranges. We were very happy with our room, although we did not have much of a view.
- Breakfast: A medium-sized and perfectly ok breakfast buffet.
- Service: A small outdoor pool, where you can also have a beer.

Hotels in Bukhara
Another popular city in Uzbekistan is Bukhara, which is cosy and walkable, while there are plenty of historical sights. We have visited the city twice, staying in two different hotels.
# Suzangaron hotel
The first time we visited Bukhara we stayed at Suzangaron hotel. This is a relatively simple hotel, but nice and extremely well located in the centre of the old part of the city. Nice views from the roof terrace!
- Address: Khaqiqat, 25, Bukhara
- Rum: About 20 rooms. A bit hard bed and relatively noisy, but quite ok.
- Breakfast: Medium sized and quite ok breakfast buffet.
- Service: Restaurant and café.

# Caravan Plaza
During our last visit to Bukhara we stayed at Caravan Plaza, which we perceived as a relatively simple hotel. The main advantage of the hotel is that the location is very good, not quite as central as Suzangaron, but almost.
- Address: Khodja Nurobobod St, Bukhara
- Rum: Relatively simple, but perfectly ok rooms.
- Breakfast: Medium sized and quite ok breakfast buffet.
- Service: Usual reception etc. but nothing more.

Hotels in Zomin National Park
On our last visit to Uzbekistan, we spent two days in Zomin National Park, which is located roughly between Tashkent and Samarkand. Here we stayed in a hotel.
# Wyndham Garden Zomin
The hotel Wyndham Garden Zomin is relatively new and feels both modern and fresh, in a style reminiscent of accommodation in the Swedish mountains or the European Alps. Buffet food is served at breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you want beer or wine with your meal, you can buy it yourself in the shop next door.
- Address: Zomin Mountain District, Jizzakh
- Rum: Very fresh and modern rooms, almost in ”Scandinavian” style.
- Breakfast: Relatively large and excellent breakfast buffet.
- Service: Buffet restaurant and fitness centre.

BP says:
Hotels as hotels. No, absolutely not. Here it is clear that the breakfasts decide. So much good and so nicely and artistically organised.
I assume that you, as ambassadors on the press trip, were offered hotel nights and breakfast, but it would have been interesting to know the price situation compared to Sweden...

A good reflection! I thought about printing prices first (because it is interesting!) but it fell on the fact that it is so easy to get it wrong - prices vary greatly depending on the day of the week, season, choice of room etc ... In general, our experience is that you can stay much cheaper than in Sweden. The absolute most luxurious hotels have more international prices though. An example (checking Booking.com today) is De Villa Hotel in Samarkand: If you want to stay there today, two people, it costs 592 SEK including breakfast 😉
