- London, United Kingdom
- Paris, France
- Malaga, Spain
- Barcelona, Spain
- Rome, Italy
- Palma de Mallorca, Spain
- Alicante, Spain

Linköping and Lidköping step up the fight against confusion
Tinder dates and theory tests in the wrong city. Tourists and transport that got lost. After a search on social media, it is clear: the confusion between Linköping and Lidköping is not just a logistical problem, it is also a source of life's fate and somewhat hilarious everyday situations.
Now the cities are stepping up the campaign to stop the confusion once and for all. You can see some examples of mix-ups below and read more on the campaign page upplevlindkoping.se
- Tinder fiasco. A man drove twenty kilometers for a first date in Linköping, only to realize that the girl was waiting in Lidköping.
- The Mercedes trip from France. A French family drove all the way to Linköping for the big car meet, Power Meet. Once they arrived and checked in, they realized they were in the wrong city.
- The secret German. A German tourist in Lidköping was desperately looking for the famous Garden Association.
- The library miss. An entire exhibition about famous children's book authors was sent to the wrong city library.
- The Pinchos trap. A guest in Lidköping was very happy when he managed to order a drink in the app that no one else at the table could find, but the drink was waiting in Linköping.

Reflection of the week
It's a bummer to accidentally book a hotel in the wrong city, you might say. We haven't done that (yet)... However, we often notice, when we travel, that Sweden and Switzerland get mixed up...

What situations when Lidköping and Linköping are mixed up.
I've also seen Sweden and Switzerland mixed up. When I told them a few days ago that I was from Sweden, my guide thought that Sweden is known for its chocolate and watches. Well... not really.

I experience Sweden and Switzerland being mixed up very often, but I have never experienced Linköping and Lidköping being confused. But I can certainly understand that it happens. A 2-week train trip in Sweden sounds like it could be a very fun vacation, I hope many people take advantage of it! Have a nice Monday.

What a great initiative by Norrtåg to offer this affordable train trip up north. It feels both fun and exciting.
Yes, I've seen people confuse Sweden and Switzerland. Not least in the US, where people often don't have a good grasp of small countries in Europe.

Hi Helena! We are leaving over Ascension Day, our destination is not on the top list. It will be Greece for us.
I especially like that you are promoting train holidays… it feels both inspiring and tempting to discover more at a slower pace. It's also fun to have little travel mix-ups, things that often become memories you laugh about in retrospect.
KRAM to you! Anna

There's also Egypt in Sweden... outside Gothenburg 😅 in Härryda... but it's hidden on the map so people don't go the wrong way!?

I would have loved to travel to Scotland during Christ's Day when my nephew is getting married in Scotland, but that will have to be another time. You can't be everywhere... I understand that Linköping and Lidköping are confused and that this is something you want to focus on! Traveling three more hours to get to your date can feel tough if you've gotten somewhere on time.
Otherwise, all I can think of is this clip with the bitchy lady from "Li'köööping":

Hahaha! If she hadn't gone so far but only to Linköping, she might have been able to settle for the win...
