New ferry line between Karlshamn and Gdańsk
From July 6, 2026, the shipping company POLSCA Baltic Ferries will start a new ferry line between Gdańsk in Poland and Karlshamn in Blekinge. The line will operate up to six times a week and will be a new alternative for both passengers and freight transport between Poland and southern Sweden.

Strong upturn for motorhomes – more stable caravan market
June's registration figures show that new motorhome registrations continue to develop strongly. During the first six months of the year, new motorhome registrations have increased by 52.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
At the same time, caravan registrations show a stronger June than the previous year, although part of the increase is explained by a number of caravans being registered as a result of stricter safety regulations within the EU.
- Motorhome registrations for June 2026: 846 (compared to 572 same period last year)
- Caravan registrations for June 2026: 276 (compared to 178 same period last year)

Fuel surcharges on flights are being removed
After the spring's rising oil prices, several airlines introduced extra fuel surcharges on their airline tickets. Oil prices have now dropped to their lowest level since February and according to travel agency Ticket, the extra fuel surcharges that were introduced earlier this spring are now starting to be reduced or removed altogether – a move that could mean lower travel costs for many travelers.
For a round trip to Bangkok, the fuel surcharge on some flights has amounted to almost SEK 3,000. The fuel surcharge has primarily affected long-haul flights, while ticket prices within Europe have not been affected to the same extent.

Norwegian continues to invest in Skellefteå
Norwegian has operated the route between Stockholm Arlanda and Skellefteå twice a week since October 2024 and is now choosing to extend the route until spring 2027. If demand continues to be strong, increased capacity is planned from the summer season 2027.

TUI invests in Bodrum – new direct route to the Turkish Riviera
In the summer of 2026, it will be easier to get to Bodrum in Turkey with TUI when the airline AJet launches a new direct route from Stockholm-Arlanda and Copenhagen-Kastrup to the Turkish Riviera. At the same time, new hotel facilities continue to attract travelers looking for a combination of luxury, swimming and relaxation. Akra Didim Resort & Spa is one of those welcoming its first guests this summer.

Reflection of the week
Interesting about the merger of the Polish shipping companies! We have traveled with both Polferries and Unity Line before – now it will be interesting to experience POLSCA Baltic Ferries.
