Travelling by motorhome north of Lake Mälaren

We are currently on a motorhome trip north of Lake Mälaren. It is so much fun to be on the road with the motorhome, so we want to be out as much as possible. This time, just like last time, we have looked for castles, but now we are mixing with ruins, cities, open-air museums and other exciting things.

Motorhome travel - castles, ruins and cities north of Lake Mälaren

We've seen a whole bunch of castles (and some church ruins) on this motorhome trip. We haven't had time to tell you about all the castles yet, but we have written about three. All of these were really nice and interesting, we must say!

Then we moved on to Västerås, where we stayed for several days. We haven't had time to write about this at all, but we will. We have experienced a lot and taken lots of photos!

Working from the motorhome

Are we just idle and can cruise around in the campervan as we please? No, not at all actually. Peter works with the web shop and other development projects around the blog and I (Helena) am employed. When it became everyday life, we set up at the car park in Västerås for a few days. When you work digitally, it is just as good to work from the motorhome as from the houseboat. But it's nice to have a change of scenery!

Every day (except one day when it rained all the time!) we have been able to take a walk or bike ride to look around Västerås. How nice to avoid the usual walks at home.

Are you wondering why there was suddenly a report about Gdansk on the blog? Yes, it's because we had a lot of work and no time to blog. In the pipeline, we had a post about Gdansk that was based on an old post - but which Peter improved and rewrote. When we published it, comments from the old post (from 2014) were included by mistake. Wow, that was a bit weird ...! We've corrected it now, and we apologise!

Good food in the campervan

In the evenings, Peter has spoilt us with good food in the motorhome. Sometimes I think "shouldn't you cook something simpler in the campervan?", but I rarely get support for that. During this trip it has been both seabream and beef fillet.

Yesterday we had baked salmon with boiled potatoes, asparagus, mushrooms and homemade rum sauce.

Peter makes the rum sauce by mixing sour cream with red rum, dill, salt, pepper and grated lime zest. Delicious and fresh with the salmon!

Best this week

The best thing this week is of course that we could be out with the motorhome. Absolutely wonderful with new views and interesting places to visit! What has been the best part of your week?

The week ahead

We will be out with the motorhome until Sunday, and then we roll back home for some time in the houseboat. During the coming week, you can expect more reports from the places we have visited, including around Västerås.
