Ställplats i Mönsterås hamn – med husbil nära centrum

Updated: October 2026 | The parking lot in Mönsterås harbor is located by the water, within walking distance of the center. We stayed here overnight with a camper in 2009 and happened to spot a blues festival. It was a nice stop with a harbor view, music and a walk among small charming houses. Since our visit, the service has developed, including electrical sites and a new service house.

Motorhome parking by the water in Mönsterås

Mönsterås is located between Oskarshamn and Kalmar and was one of the stops during our first trips with a camper. When we got down to the harbor, there were already many campers there, but we still managed to find a nice spot by the water.

It was above all the combination of the water view and the proximity to the city center that we appreciated. We could leave the camper and walk up among the houses and streets without having to arrange any transportation.

Today's municipal motorhome parking lot is located at the inner harbor, next to the multi-purpose hall in the harbor park. There are nine motorhome parking spaces here, all with access to electricity, and close to cafes, restaurants and shops.

Service, booking and payment

When we visited Mönsterås in 2009, the service was simpler and we were without electricity. So that information does not apply to today's campsite.

There is now a new service house with toilets, showers, washing machine and dryer. Electricity and access to the service house are included in the parking fee, and there is the possibility to fill up with fresh water in connection with the harbor. The laundry room is booked separately digitally.

Booking and payment are made via Campingspot.com. There you can both pre-book before arrival and pay when you are already there. The code to the service house is sent in the booking confirmation.

Please note that there is no possibility to empty the latrine or grey water at the campsite itself. For latrine emptying, the municipality refers to the Emån rest area along the E22, in both north and south directions. The booking page refers to Circle K in Mönsterås for grey water emptying.

A walk through Mönsterås

During our visit, we took a walk through the city center and enjoyed the small houses and charming streets. The fact that there was a blues festival going on made the stop a little extra lively.

There was music playing on small stages, and there were plenty of people eating, drinking and socializing. We hadn't planned our trip after the festival, but simply ended up in the middle of it. Unexpected discoveries like these are one of the things we like about traveling by campervan.

Our memory of the harbor

During the evening more campers came down to the harbor, so we had plenty of company. We also noticed all the cars that drove down, did a lap and continued back up towards the center. It seemed like the harbor was an obvious part of the evening's round.

For us, Mönsterås was a nice stop with both water views and people. We haven't returned to the campsite since 2009, but the central harbor location and improved service make it interesting for a new visit.
