Crossing roads again - meeting with motorhome friends in Germany

Many times during this trip we have met amazingly nice people, and sometimes we cross paths more than once! But to first meet in Macedonia, and then run into each other again in Germany several months later, isn't that a bit unlikely?

We almost missed each other

We met Tom-Erik and Gunn-Marie from Norway on the Struga campsite in Macedonia in early September and had two pleasant evenings together there. When we visited Neuschwanstein Castle a few days ago, something surprising happened.

We didn't notice it at first, but as we drove away from there and onto the motorway, we saw something fluttering against the windscreen. Advertising? We didn't look until the next day and then we saw it: It was a map with a circled campsite and it said "Vi er her! Tom-Erik and Gunn-Marie". Was that true? By that time we had already driven another two hours in another direction ...

Meeting at a campsite in Kassel

It felt so awkward that almost have met, but still missed each other, so we weren't quite ready to give up. We wrote a comment on Tom-Erik and Gunn-Marie's blog and asked where they were planning to go. And yesterday both our motorhomes rolled into a campsite in Naumburg near Kassel in Germany! It was a long and pleasant evening with wine and snacks in our motorhome.

Tom-Erik and Gunn-Marie have been on the road for a total of six months and have managed to do all sorts of things since we last saw them, including an island trip in Greece (when they left the motorhome at an airport) but also France and Spain. So you understand that we had a lot to talk about! Today we have woken up to a new day and soon we will roll towards Lübeck.
