Halland first with commercial drone deliveries

Region Halland, in collaboration with Aerit, recently carried out Sweden's first commercial drone delivery. The delivery included food from a local restaurant to Tylösand beach. Drones are already used today to transport medical equipment, but for commercial actors, until now, no one has been authorised to fly. With e-commerce growing, the need for new logistics solutions is great, and the hope is that this is the start of more innovative collaborations. The benefits of using drones for transport include lower climate impact and lower costs.

SJ's bistro gets even greener

SJ is further strengthening the organic and sustainable profile of its bistro offering. From 1 November, breakfast will be vegetarian and the breakfast box will contain significantly less plastic than before. In addition, two new dishes with organic and locally grown ingredients are entering the bistro, a ceasar wrap with organic chicken and falafel salad on Swedish yellow peas.

Storyspot's ghost story map offers a spooky autumn!

Now you can experience an extra spooky Halloween with ghost stories in Storyspot. There are now hundreds of scary audio stories set around Sweden to listen to, directly on your mobile phone, for free. Did they really throw the elderly down the Ättestupan on Kullberget in Hällefors? And what happened at the Pungpinan pub on that March night in 1803 when a blizzard hit and a whole family turned into ghosts? Storyspot's ghost stories are all about old spooks, and any that have taken place in a specific location can be found on the Storyspot map.

Three quarters are more positive about the Alps this winter

How do Swedish skiers feel about the winter season this year compared to last winter in terms of corona? Together with Freeride.se - Sweden's leading ski community - the Austrian Tourist Board wanted to find out. Of the nearly 550 people who took part in the survey, more than 85 per cent said they would like to go to the Alps this winter. Almost 72 per cent said they would prefer to go to Austria. The attitude towards a skiing holiday in the Alps is also much more positive than last winter, with 75% more positive this year and half of these have already booked.

Silja Serenade enters service during the sports holidays to meet demand.

Contrary to previous reports that the ship Silja Serenade is taken out of service, the ship will operate the Helsinki-Stockholm route during the sports holiday in 2022. This is because the company now sees a greatly increased interest in family cruises during autumn and winter. The Silja Serenade will be put into service between 17 February and 7 March 2022, and will then serve Helsinki and Stockholm every other day for a total of nine cruises during the school holidays.

Reflection of the week

Drone deliveries have been talked about for a long time, but one wonders when it will start on a larger scale? And that people are more positive about the Alps this winter, well that's not so surprising ...? By the way, do you like ghost stories?
