Motorhome giant in bankruptcy
Svenska Husbilsgruppen, which has invested heavily in recent years, including the purchase of Hobby Tenhult AB, is reported by the motoring website Carup in bankruptcy. Svenska Husbilsgruppen operated facilities under the name Svea Husbilar, among others.
What Swedes are most bothered by on holiday
Loungers have long been seen as the biggest annoyance for many holidaymakers. But according to a new survey by Kantar Media, commissioned by travel company TUI, it's something else entirely that tops the list of what annoys Swedes most: poor soundproofing. This annoys Swedes most in hotels abroad:
- Poor sound insulation (39 %)
- Uncomfortable bed or pillow (36 %)
- Noisy or disorderly guests (33 %)
- Inattentive or rude staff (29 %)
- Construction sites near the hotel (26 %)
- Tourists hiring deckchairs (26 %)
- Loud/unruly children in the hotel (24 %)
- Food and drink not meeting expectations (22 %)
- Unstable Wi-Fi (18 %)
- Overcrowded common areas (17 %)

Ticket Collection 2026: The economy is affecting but not slowing down travel
Swedes' desire to travel remains strong ahead of 2026, while the economy affects how travel is carried out. This is according to Ticket Collection, the travel agency Ticket's latest report on Swedes' travel habits. According to the report, bookings have increased by 28 per cent compared to last year, while the proportion of people who say that the economy has a negative impact on their travel has decreased from 45 to 24 per cent. Many are adjusting their travel:
- 38 % planning to travel outside the high season
- 37 % choose cheaper accommodation
- 32 % choose destinations that are cheaper to fly to
- 21 % book their trips earlier to secure better prices
46% say they do not plan to take any action to keep travel costs down, a significant increase from 25% the year before.
- Fewer people borrowing for holidays - Only 2% say they paid for their holiday in instalments, for example by credit card or invoice.
- Europe continues to dominate - 64% of all trips booked so far are to European destinations.
- Affordable options and new favourites emerge - Poland is the most obvious example, where bookings have almost increased sixfold.
- Long-distance travel is being chosen more selectively - Outside Europe, Thailand continues to dominate, while interest is growing in Japan and Vietnam.

The Ticket Collection report, from the travel agency Ticket, also presents this year's destinations:
- Winner of the year: Spain
- Rocket of the year: Italy
- The most affordable of the year: Poland

Reflection of the week
Shocking with the motorhome bankruptcy! But it's great when a destination invests in motorhome packages. Regardless of whether the motorhome travellers book a package, or travel freely on their own, it shows that the destination sees motorhome travellers as an important target group. It is also good to see that Poland, which has long been a favourite of ours, is becoming more and more popular.

We are also a little shocked by the bankruptcy because we have a reported warranty issue to be addressed in Tenhult and we barely a week ago booked times for this and some other things they would fix for us when we get home. Fun with the idea of accommodation packages along the Göta Canal, something that might be good in high season even if we like to go a little more unplanned.

Interesting information and always fun to see how others think when travelling. My biggest disappointment besides uncomfortable beds is bad food, 100%. Couldn't care less about children sounding, if you want to be without it you have to travel to child-free destinations, hehe.

Fun with Poland! I really hope that your posts inspired many to go to Sopot. In other words, your trip and the posts were very well timed: -)
