Restaurants in Sopot
We've just returned from a few days of wintry weather in the small Polish town of Sopot, part of the Trojmiasto (Trippelstaden) and is located between Gdansk and Gdynia. Sopot is a little more exclusive, not to say the the most exclusive, the holiday resort in Poland.
Summer is the high season in Sopot, but the fact is that tourists come here all year round, which means that most restaurants are open all year round. We've had time to visit a few places, and here are five nice restaurants in Sopot, and one bar.

1st M15 Sopot
The first evening in Sopot we had dinner at M15 Sopot, where we also had a sauna. This is an incredibly cosy place located along the long beach, in low charming wooden buildings. By starting with a sauna and cold bath (or maybe a smaller cold sea bath if it's summer!) you get wonderfully hungry for dinner.

Our party started with a starter of herring and potato blinis - both delicious and nicely served. Herring is popular in Poland, but it's good to know that Polish herring is usually less sweet than Swedish herring.

We then continued with a light (spicy!) soup before it was time for the main course. The cod we had here was very good!

Would you like dessert too? We did, but in hindsight we could have shared one. In any case, these little deep-fried balls were the perfect end to a lovely evening!

2. do Brzegu
One day we had lunch at the Do Brzegu restaurant, which is also nicely located along the long sandy beach (which was currently covered in winter white snow).

Here we chose to order some classic Polish dishes. We started with the sour soup zurek, which is a favourite for both Peter and me. As usual, the soup contained both boiled egg and pieces of sausage, but this time also a dollop of mashed potatoes. This hearty Polish soup is very good, and be prepared for it to be quite filling.
For the main course we chose another classic: Polish pierogi. These were filled with cod and tasted very, very good.

At least now we had learnt to order in and dessert to share. It turned out to be a wise choice! Very tasty, and half a piece was enough without any problems.

3. between towns
The most luxurious meal of our visit was at the Michelin recommended restaurant L'Entre Villes. This restaurant is located in a beautiful and luxuriously renovated villa, and it is a pleasure just to experience the setting.

The decor feels exclusive, while at the same time it is cosy and snug. We sat on the glazed veranda, where it felt both warm and wintry at the same time.

We had a tasting menu at L'Entre Villes, which meant that a long line of small tasty creations were carried out for us. This was truly an experience, we promise! We'll let the pictures speak for themselves, but we can mention marinated trout, lobster soup with smoked scallops and deer tartare.

The final dessert, which consisted of three different small flavour portions, was also not to be missed. One of the many restaurants in Sopot that we will not forget in a hurry!

4 Petit Paris
Another restaurant that offered a very good experience was Petit Paris - a French restaurant that is also recommended in the Michelin guide. We started with a traditional cheese and onion soup and continued with trout served with saffron risotto and mandarin sauce. Wow, so good!

The dessert will speak for itself. In any case, we can promise that it was delicious!

5. Grand Hotel Sopot
Last but not least, we recommend the restaurant at the Grand Hotel Sopot. Here, we have to say that what impressed us the most was the incredible history, which is really in the walls. Read our report about the Grand Hotel in Sopot. If you don't want to have dinner here - but still want to experience the environment - it is also possible to stop by for a coffee or drink at the bar.

What about dinner? Yes, it tasted very good! Today's three-course menu offered a choice of two starters, two main courses and two desserts. In addition, the chef surprised us with a small tasty appetiser to start.
The photos then show the vegetarian starter (made with aubergine), duck leg confit (a favourite!) and a final chocolate dessert.

Bonus: 3city Distillery
Do you like gin? Then don't miss the 3city Distillery in Sopot. You can book tastings here, and it's also open as a bar on weekends. A very nice place with good gin, delicious gin drinks and nice owners!

More restaurants in Sopot?
There are of course many more good restaurants in Sopot, although we did not get to try any more. For example, we had a look at Bleknity Poodle, which offers an incredibly cosy interior.

Also, don't miss out on trying zapiekanka - a kind of Polish fast food, often seen on and around the beaches of Sopot. The dish can be described as an oblong pizza-like sandwich, usually filled with ham, mushrooms and cheese, and served with ketchup or mayonnaise.

More to see and do in Sopot
What else can you see and do in Sopot? If it's summer and sunny, sunbathing and swimming on the long sandy beaches are of course popular. If you are planning a winter weekend in Sopot you can enjoy spas and saunas, among other things. You can also discover museums, art, shopping and nature, as well as the neighbouring cities of Gdansk and Gdynia. Please read our guide to Sopot!

Dregel, dregel, dregel:-) We were also very impressed with the restaurant offer in Sopot. And most dishes were pure eye candy too. Zurek is such a delicious and warming soup, as well as all the pies with different fillings. Yes, that cheesecake was not entirely wrong either, but oh so powerful it is.
We mostly went to restaurants that were not upper class, but we were not disappointed once.
When you go there next time and have to pay out of pocket, I can recommend the places I wrote about in an earlier comment.

The food in Poland is often good we think - both in a little simpler restaurants and a little finer! Checked out your tips earlier, but did not have time to visit the places,,,!
