It was still winter in Sweden when we got on the plane to Valencia. But it was slowly getting warmer, and in Spain it was even more spring. Lovely! But, there is always something to worry about ...

Sweden-winter
Winter in Sweden (or in Stockholm perhaps we should say) has been fantastic this year. With respect to all those who hate cold and snow - we still like winter vibes better than slush. We have certainly had some challenges with the houseboat (the heating cable on the in and out water!) but mostly it has still been nice.

The photos are from an evening walk we took in Solna, a few nights before we travelled to Spain. It was snowing heavily and getting warmer - but it was nice!

Spain - Spring
We have now spent a few days in beautiful Valencia, on the Spanish coast. We went down on a press trip, and it turned out to be a really big group, with journalists from Europe as well as Asia, North America and South America. Full steam ahead, and many nice meetings!
It was not very hot all the time (sometimes we even froze a bit), but some moments the sun warmed up really well. For example, we enjoyed a welcome drink and some snacks at the rooftop bar of our hotel - absolutely fantastic! We have also experienced many other nice things in the lovely city of Valencia, which we will tell you more about soon.

Never just plain and simple...
But is everything just easy and lovely all the time? No, it really isn't, life isn't like that ... We both arrived smoothly by plane to Valencia, but our checked-in luggage did not. Peter's bag arrived on the very last night, and my bag arrived ... just in time for us to check in for the flight back to Stockholm! It was just a case of sticking with the same outfit for four days, and using the free toothbrush from the hotel reception...

We have also had a lot to deal with, in terms of collaborations, preparations for the fair, advertising and a lot of other things, which has meant that we have had to work at the computers early in the mornings and late in the evenings.
However, our main concern at the moment is that Peter had a computer problem on the flight home - we haven't resolved this yet, so it's just one more thing to deal with. Of course, it happens when we are busiest and we need the computers...

This week: Grateful for…
When the computer goes on strike and you absolutely can't be without it, it's easier to complain than to be grateful, but ok, we're working on it...
This week we are grateful for the opportunity to experience Scandinavian latitudes as well as southern European ones. Variety is great! We are also grateful that our suitcases finally made it back to their owners. Your turn... what are you thankful for this week?

The week ahead
By the time you read this, we will be back home from Spain. Soon you can expect reports about Valencia, and a little later also about the fair Stockholm Husvagn Husbil, which is approaching. Now we wish you a nice Friday and weekend!

The fact that luggage does not arrive seems to be becoming more and more common at stopovers. We arrived in Namibia in jeans, fleece sweater and jacket. As it was almost +30, we had to spend the first day looking for shorts, T-shirt and toothbrush instead of relaxing after a long journey. Computer problems are Grrr. Hope you get it sorted out. Here we are grateful for a wonderful summer week where the day before yesterday we came back to Dilves and it felt like coming home. Next week we start heading home slowly! Have a great weekend!

Oh, is that how it is with luggage? We've been lucky in the past, but now we realised that you never know... 😉 Oh. are you heading home? Hope you had a really nice trip so far!

Extra grateful for pleasantries in Stockholm this week such as Liljevalch's Spring Exhibition and after-talk at ”Blå Porten”. Furthermore, I was with Promenadklubben at a preview of the film Hamnet (Hamlet ) which has its Swedish premiere today. So good! Both content, acting performances, how it is filmed etc. (The film tells about how Shakespeare wrote Hamlet) After that lunch at restaurant Kvarnen.
There have also been walks with friends, plus a TV filming. So quite busy.
Sorry about your luggage and just as bad about Peter's computer which is not well - I hope it gets better though. .

You must have jinxed it with your post a few days ago: ”A list of things we love and hate about travelling”. Poor you. Personally, I would probably have shopped around for the amount you know the airline will reimburse you for if they lose your luggage,,, So annoying. Maybe best to travel with only hand luggage in the future. I mean now you have had to test that it is possible to ”live” in the same clothes for four days. You can manage with much less clothes than you realise...
Unfortunate with the computer of course. Keeping all fingers crossed that it can be fixed. I mean you are dependent on working computers ...
Thank you for the spring vibes of showing open air dining in the evening:-)

Yes, one can wonder how we planned with the posts ... 😉 On the way down, I also started writing a post about air travel that did not go as we planned - little did we know that the last flight would qualify for the list! 😉

It's nice to get some sun and warmth but the thing about suitcases that don't arrive is no fun. The fact that both bags found their own trips, is not common. When we fly, we pack half there and in the middle of the bags but in your case it would not have helped. Bad luck and understand if you do not feel so fresh with the same clothes, four days.
The best thing this week is that the Annex has been serviced, as has Jakob, who has been given the OK by the doctor.
Have a nice weekend, see you at the fair. Hugs
