Right now we are working day and night (well, almost!) to update our site - freedomtravel.se. The aim is to make it more attractive, easier to find - and simply more pleasant and easier to look around among destinations and travel tips.
Table of contents
Lots of news!
Now that we are at home, and not travelling, we finally have time to work on the site. At first you think you're going to ”update a bit”, but the more you work on it, the more you realise that there's a lot to both clean up and develop.
As the years go by and we publish a new story (or blog post) every day, we end up with a lot of material - some of which gets old, while the layout and structure need to be refreshed over time.

Simpler pages on countries and regions
One thing we're working on is tidying up our country and landscape pages. We are reducing the amount of text and giving the articles a slightly cleaner layout in the grid (preview) - just headline and no body text.
For example, this is how our new page about the Philippines out:

And this is what our new page on Dalarna out:

We also work with ...
As we work on the site, we are constantly discovering new things, and we have several projects going on at the same time. Some of the things we are working on:
- Update information that is no longer valid (restaurants and hotels that are closed, for example)
- Update heading structure in old posts/reports
- Discarding old posts that are not relevant
- Spruce up fact boxes with a new design
- Improve the layout to make it even more suitable for mobile phones

We are not done yet...
Well, we're not done yet. We are working and working. This is pretty much all we're doing right now. It's important to us because we want our site to be fun to browse, and because we also want the travel tips to be as up-to-date as possible.
Our ambition is to have a site about travel and destinations that feels both personalised and informative. Are we succeeding? You probably know that better than we do!
Please note that you are always welcome to contact us if you have any questions (or tips!) about travelling and destinations. We can be reached by email at [email protected] and on Instagram at @freedomtravel.se.

Really a great job you are doing! Wish you luck- Uzbekistan still appeals to us, but we want the world situation to settle down before travelling there. But when it becomes relevant, we will let you know.
Unfortunately, there are now very many countries on the Foreign Ministry's advice list... However, not Uzbekistan, but we still choose to wait a little.

Thank you Ditte! And absolutely, keep in touch! Obviously, the situation in the world affects how you feel about travelling. Feel free to get in touch when you want to go to Uzbekistan - we can certainly come up with tips and ideas! (And yes, many people advise against travelling, but often it's only to a small part of the country.)

I must admit that although I read your blog every day, I have not visited your country or landscape pages. Today I did, and it's classy and very nice. Well done!

A solid and wonderful job you have to do. One thing I have noticed, which bothers my eye, is that you have capital letters in the headings. In the menu and on buttons is one thing, but in long titles on blog posts for example. it becomes difficult to read. Extra clear on the new country page in the boxes. One of my reflections anyway 🙂 Have fun editing!

Thanks for the input! Yes, our theme does make the headings all capitalized. Haven't really thought about it (and probably won't change it anytime soon, too many other things to think about right now), but I'll take the idea with me! Appreciate your feedback!!
