This week has been marked by the weather for us: sometimes hot summer sun and sometimes freezing spring cold. In addition, for the first time in our lives, we have given a speech in the Swedish Parliament …

Summer days
Two days in a row it was so hot. We walked around Stockholm and people were sunbathing in swimming trunks and bikinis. Small boats were bobbing around and the outdoor cafes were full. Absolutely incredible!

Time to take care of the houseboat patio
We felt it was time to take care of the houseboat patio. We scrubbed the deck, table and chairs. Peter also used impregnation on the deck.

Speech in the Swedish Parliament
A completely different thing that we did this week is that we gave a speech in the Swedish Parliament. A seminar was arranged, on trade, investments and tourism in Central Asia. The seminar has been held twice before, but this was the first time that tourism was included in the agenda.

The aim, as we understand it, is to initiate and develop good cooperation on trade, investment and tourism between Sweden and Central Asia.

Björn Söder held the two-hour seminar and several different speakers took the stage, ranging from the ambassadors of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, to various entrepreneurs and adventurers.

For us, it felt incredibly positive and fun that they chose to include tourism on the agenda. Our presentation? We were given about 10 minutes and we were a little nervous, but we think we managed to contribute with our personal and emotional experiences of traveling in Uzbekistan – an exciting, colorful and safe country for tourists.

This week: Grateful for ...
Yes, we are of course grateful for the opportunity to speak in the Swedish Parliament, which was an interesting experience, while it felt good to share our experiences. (We told about the warm people, about the singing and the music, and about the generosity!)
What are you grateful for this week...?

The week ahead
We probably thought we would be leaving with the camper soon, but we have been busy with one thing after another. We will be home for a while – and then a trip to a slightly different destination awaits us in Turkey!

Wow! What a thing. I understand that it felt special to speak in the Riksdag. Good job!
I'm grateful to hear lots of different birds chirping outside the open window. It's a beautiful day and I don't have much work before I meet up with friends and do some gardening (of course). I'm grateful for that. Wishing you a really nice weekend!

What a treat to be able to speak in the Riksdag, really fun, of course you can say congratulations on that, hehe.
We have understood that the weather is really up and down. We have also been wearing shorts for a week or so and suddenly it got cold and the long underwear came on again. Today it is sunny and we will enjoy the nice weather when we find a good parking spot in northern Germany. Hugs and have a nice weekend

What an experience to talk about Uzbekistan in the Riksdag! What wonderful weather it has been during the days even if the nights have been freezing cold. Apart from the nice weather, the best thing about the week for us is that we went to install a new water pump in Laikan, so nice to not have to worry about leaks…

It's great that tourism is also included in this seminar. And with your experiences, I'm convinced that you contributed to a lot of positive things.
Grateful for this week? Brilliant weather, hanging out in Kungsan, two theater performances and meetings with friends.

WOW!!! It sounds like a fun adventure to speak in the Swedish Parliament. That probably only happens once in a lifetime. Again, so fun that Uzbekistan has chosen you as its ambassadors. I really hope that both Uzbekistan and you can benefit from the cooperation.

What an experience, it's great that there was a focus on Central Asia, which is otherwise very far away and a bit unknown here in Sweden! 😀 I might call the breweries I visited in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, maybe it's time for some craft beer from those countries 😜😎🥳

What an honor! Congratulations! Kazakhstan would have been interesting to hear about before my trip, even though I have a pretty good idea of what I want to experience.
I'm grateful for a quiet weekend. I still feel tired after the trip home, and a couple of intense days at work. So it feels much needed to recharge my batteries.
