Writer: Helena Bergström

After a wonderful trip to the Greek islands of Naxos and Sifnos, we have been home in Stockholm for a while. We have had time to work, meet friends and enjoy the autumn. But soon it will be time to pack our bags again! During the rest of the autumn, both new adventures and dear reunions await. And a trip that was actually supposed to go to Namibia, but instead takes us to Spain …

Egypt – cruise on the Nile and old memories

First, a press trip awaits Egypt, together with other travel writers from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. We know several of them from before, and some of them we have also traveled with before. It will be incredibly fun to meet again and share new experiences!

The preliminary program also looks incredibly exciting. Among other things, we will visit Cairo and embark on a cruise on the Nile, stopping at historical sites such as Karnak, Luxor, Esna, Edfu, Kom Ombo and the island of Philae.

Egypt is a country that means a little extra to us. We visited Cairo relatively recently and were fascinated by everything we experienced there. But Luxor and Karnak bring back even older memories. It was during our very first trip together that we visited these places! Now we are going back, many years later. It feels both fun and a little special.

Spain – when Namibia became Malaga

A completely different kind of trip awaits us at the beginning of December. We're going to Spain, specifically to Estepona on the Costa del Sol. But that's definitely not where we originally planned to end up!

This spring we had planned a real adventure. We were going to travel around Namibia for a month with our South African friends Henri and Michelle. The flight tickets were booked and the idea was that we would discover the country together in their car and caravan.

But then came the fuel crisis in Namibia, and our friends were forced to cancel. Embarking on a long journey through a desert country without reliable access to fuel didn't seem like a great idea.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get a refund for the flight tickets. However, we managed to rebook them – to Malaga! They must be some of the most expensive tickets to Malaga we’ve ever bought…

But it will probably be good anyway! We are going to visit our friends Lennart and Beata, who we used to often meet at home in Sundbyberg or out on Ring island. They have now bought a place in Estepona and moved there. It will be very nice to see them again, and at the same time get to experience a bit of their new home area.

Maybe it will also be Latvia?

As if that weren't enough, there's also a possible press trip to Latvia on the agenda. It's not yet confirmed, so we'll see if it happens.

The preliminary plan sounds appealing, with a focus on a route and places that might not be obvious to tourists. We like to discover lesser-known destinations, so that would be a lot of fun!

Riga in Latvia. But this time we might get the opportunity to discover more places.

An autumn to look forward to!

We like being at home too, especially in the fall when there is time for work, friends and everyday life. But of course there is something very special about having new trips to look forward to.

This time it will be a mix of old memories, new discoveries and reunions with good friends. Exactly what we think makes traveling so amazing!

And of course we will tell you more about the trips here at FREEDOMtravel. Don't miss following our adventures on Instagram at @freedomtravel.se!
