We have now had the chance to try hang gliding in Interlaken, Switzerland. There was no doubt that Peter would agree to fly, but the question was whether I (Helena) was also prepared to throw myself into the air ...? Gruyère in Switzerland is a mecca for cheese lovers. We drove the motorhome to Broc, where we tried chocolate in Maison Cailler. Then we continued to Gruyère, where we of course bought Swiss cheese and had a cheese fondue. Finally, we ended the day with some horror with the Alien Monsters at the Giger Museum ...

In the crypt are several ancient sarcophagi and relics that, according to Catholic tradition, belong to Mary Magdalene. We came here by boat from Le Lavandou and had our sights set on La Palud beach. It didn't really happen that way. But sometimes a day trip is still good.

We went here on a spontaneous excursion from Le Lavandou, failed to find a hotel and were instead booked into a tent. It was the beginning of one of our more unexpected island adventures in France.

We came here by camper van during the height of summer and stayed at a campsite at Pramousquier, where an evening swim in the Mediterranean was just what we needed after a dramatic journey through the mountains.
