Trosa havsbad and camping - nice by the water

Updated: May 2026 | Trosa havsbad och camping is located by the water in Öbolandet, about three kilometers from central Trosa. Here you can combine camping life with the beach, swimming and archipelago environment. We have stayed here once with the camper and got a nice place with a water view – perfect for a quiet afternoon with good food and a book.

Our visit to Trosa sea bathing and camping

We had been to the camping site in Trosa guest harbour many times, but were curious about the campsite. When we arrived at Trosa this time, the harbour was full of motorhomes, so we continued across the Edanö bridge and further out towards the sea.

At the campsite we found a spot with a view of the water. We immediately pulled out chairs and a table and sat outside the camper. We were hungry too, so yesterday's saffron-scented fish stew had to be heated up right away. After that, it was an afternoon without any special program. We enjoyed the fresh air, read a book each and took it easy.

The next morning was sunny but a bit chilly. We walked around the area and looked at the beach, the marina and the surroundings. The proximity to the water was what we appreciated the most.

Camping by the sea in Öbolandet

Trosa havsbad is located at the far end of Öbolandet, about three kilometers from the center of Trosa. It has a sandy beach, cliffs, piers and diving towers. There is also a ramp by the beach.

The camping area has several different environments. Today they are called The meadow, the mountainside, the forest height and the lake side. Some parts of Ängen and Sjösidan are specially adapted for motorhomes, but most campsites can be used by both motorhomes and caravans. There are also places for tents.

When we were here, the area was a bit hilly, and our site had a nice water view. Since our visit was a long time ago, you should use the campsite's current map and site descriptions when choosing a site.

Service at the campsite

The campsite's service building offers toilets, showers, RWC and kitchenettes for cooking and washing up. There is also a latrine emptying and a laundry room that can be booked at reception.

There is a shop at the reception with food and camping equipment, among other things. Trosa tourist information also states that the campsite has greywater drainage and motorhome pitches with electricity. Check what is included in the pitch you book.

Swimming and activities at Trosa sea beach

The beach is one of the area's great assets. Here you can swim from the sandy beach or the jetties, and there is also a diving tower. The sea bath is used by both camping guests and visitors who come for the day.

For those who want to do more than just sunbathe and swim, there are adventure golf, playgrounds and exercise trails. It is also possible to book a sauna raft or rent a kayak, canoe, SUP and bicycle. Activities and rentals depend on the season and opening hours.

We were content with walking and relaxing during our visit, but today's offerings provide more opportunities for those who want an active vacation.

Restaurant, cottages and glamping

A lot has happened since we stayed here in 2013. After the change of entrepreneur at the turn of the year 2021/2022, the business has developed with, among other things, glamping, adventure golf and the restaurant. Algoth on the Cape. There are also cottages here for those who come without their own holiday accommodation.

We have not tried the restaurant or these accommodation options ourselves. Please check the current opening hours and booking options on the establishment's website before visiting.

Get from the campsite to Trosa

The campsite is about three kilometres from central Trosa. The campsite's website describes a cycle path between the seaside resort and the guest harbour, and bicycles are available for hire at reception.

During high season there are also connections with the Blue Train and the archipelago traffic. Check current routes and timetables before planning your trip.

Once in Trosa we enjoy walking along the river and through the old quarters. There are small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the town is perfect for an excursion from the campsite.

Camping or motorhome parking in Trosa?

We have only stayed overnight at Trosa havsbad og camping once. The reason we usually choose the campsite in the guest harbour is that it is better located for our walks into town.

For us, Trosa is often a stop where we want to stroll along the river, look at boats and maybe eat something good. Then the guest harbor is a great fit.

If you primarily want to be close to the sea and spend more time at the campsite, Trosa havsbad may be a more suitable option. We appreciated our location by the water and the quiet day outside the camper.
