Now we have played golf in the Czech Republic, and it was actually the first time we played golf. ever. Very fun to try! Afterwards there was a relaxed afternoon and evening at Camp Olesna on Lake Olesna. Nice holiday atmosphere in the 28-degree heat!

Golf in the Czech Republic - Prosper Golf Resort Celadna
Time for golf in the Czech Republic! We do this part of the trip in cooperation with Czech Tourism. We travel with our own motorhome and plan a large part of the trip ourselves, but the collaboration means, among other things, that the Czech tourist office has picked out a number of activities for us. What we love about this is that we get to try some things that we would never have tried otherwise ... like golf!
We drove the campervan to the Prosper Golf Resort in Celadna, which turned out to be beautifully surrounded by high mountains. The golf resort is located just south of Ostrava, in the eastern Czech Republic.
Golf in the Czech Republic - for two beginners
None of us have played golf before. I (Helena) have no ball sense at all and Peter has been afraid of "getting stuck". He has a history of getting stuck in sports like darts and tennis, and doesn't think he has time to get stuck in golf. So he hasn't even tried it, haha. But now it was time!
Since we never played golf before, we are completely wrong people to compare the golf resort with other golf resorts. In our eyes it was very nice with large green golf courses, lakes, surrounding mountains and a modern main building with restaurant, shop and English speaking staff. Time to golf!
As we are beginners, we did not walk a whole course, but practised on the driving range. We took out 50 balls in a basket to practise hitting. So, it is very difficult to hit just hard enough and hit in the right direction! But, it was fun to try!
Spa hotel and horse farm
Right next to the golf course is also a horse farm and a spa hotel. Both look new and modern, and are beautifully located. We would love to ride here! If you want to take full advantage of the spa, you have to stay at the hotel. However, you can book a massage whether you are staying at the hotel or not.
Lake Olesna
When we finished golfing, we headed for Camp Olesna, which is located on the lake of the same name. It was a good 20 minute drive from the golf resort.
Lake Olesna is located near Frýdek-Místek, south of Ostrava in the eastern Czech Republic.
Holiday feeling at Lake Olesna
We were lucky with the weather, there's no denying that. When we arrived at Lake Olesna, it was 28 degrees plus and sunny, even though it was already mid-September. The lake was attractive and people were walking around in shorts and swimwear, gliding around in small boats or sitting on the outdoor cafes in the area.
If you want, you can hire a pedal boat or other small leisure boats, or perhaps paddle around on a Stand Up Paddle board (SUP), which we saw several people doing.
The area around the lake also offers plenty of other activities: tennis, quad bike and roller skate hire, bowling, playground, restaurants, ice cream parlours and more. There is also the Olesna Aquapark, with water slides and both indoor and outdoor pools.
One thing we noticed was that a lot of people were whizzing by on roller skates. It really seems to be extremely popular. We even saw young mums rolling up and pushing the pram in front of them.
By motorhome at Camp Olesna
Camp Olesna is a campsite located right next to Lake Olesna. You can come here with a motorhome, caravan or tent. The pitches on the grass slope a lot, so we stood on the tarmac path above. Otherwise the service is very good with electricity poles in clear rows, rubbish collection and close to the lake and restaurants.
The toilets and showers are very modern and located in cute little houses. Inside the white fence you can empty the toilet tank in a modern and fresh facility.
Bike ride around Lake Olesna
We had a great afternoon and evening at Camp Olesna and decided to cycle around the lake the next morning. Talk about being surprised when the summer heat suddenly cooled down, but it was a good idea. almost so that it was a bit nice. The distance around the lake is 2 kilometres, so it was an easy and refreshing morning walk. Then the adventure continued in the eastern Czech Republic!

Nice pictures you offer us, and nice heat too, lovely!
We just stick to mini-golf, that can be difficult enough too 🙂 .
Take care......

We have really had absolutely fantastic heat! And I agree, haha, mini golf is not always easy either 😉.

It's fun to try different things. I used to play some golf. But it was a while ago. Maybe you'll try it again.
But playing golf "for real" takes a lot of time. But it can be combined with motorhome trips and targeting different golf courses. Know those who have done it.
Keep up the good work.

Helena says:
Well, we understand that it takes time if you want to play golf "for real", which is probably why Peter wanted to avoid it. But fun to try! 🙂

What wonderful days you had in the Czech Republic!
Golf isn't hard to get stuck into, but it is hard to get any sort of order in your strokes.
In any case, it's a great activity to combine with Motorhome Life!

Yes really lovely! Not easy, but at least we got better and better at hitting the ball ?

What a beautiful place! Have tried golf once, but barely hit the ball. I probably need a bigger ball, like a football;-)
Golf courses are always so beautiful and well-maintained, and this one is no exception.

Helena says:
We didn't hit the ball all the time either, haha, but it went better and better 😉 .

Golf is fun. I took the green card many years ago and then only played once or twice. Then life got in the way and I lost interest. I like to stroll around next to golf courses.
