Winter in Stockholm

Our week began in a very wintry Stockholm. The snow can be annoying in some ways, but it is also nice when it becomes white and bright.

Even in the marina, where we live in our houseboat, it will be nice when the snow settles.

One morning we woke up to find it snowing. lots, and because the heavy snow had settled on the roof at an angle, our houseboat was leaning heavily. When we put the breakfast eggs on the table they rolled away ...

It was just (for Peter) to get up on the houseboat fence and sweep the snow down! Maybe there are reasons why he whines more about the snow than I (Helena) do ...

Lovely days in Cyprus

Early on Tuesday morning we flew to Cyprus to experience this interesting country together with a small group of travel bloggers and travel journalists. On Instagram (@freedomtravelnews) you can follow our journey a bit more in real time.

We have been travelling together until yesterday, when we went our separate ways in Cyprus. Now we find it extra exciting to follow each other on social channels. But soon we will meet again, for some more joint programmes.

Enjoying a mild climate

How excited have we been to come down to the warmth? Fantastically happy! The pictures below were taken by our friend Christian from Food and travel blog. It was the first night in Cyprus and we were tired, energised and extremely happy at the same time.

The mild climate of Cyprus is incredibly pleasant to experience. During the day it's 20-25 degrees centigrade and when the sun is shining it's nice and warm. really nice. In the evenings (or when there is a rain shower) it is a bit cooler, but it is still much, much warmer than what we are used to from home at the moment ...

We've covered a lot already, including historical sights, good food, resorts, vineyards and farms producing traditional delicacies. We'll tell you more soon, of course! In the meantime, you can read our first report on Limassol marina and Kipriakon restaurant.

Best this week

The best thing about this week is of course that we had the opportunity to discover fantastic Cyprus. What is also good is that we are still on the island and have the opportunity to discover even more!
