Limassol marina på Cypern - och restaurang Kipriakon

Limassol marina is the port of Limassol in Cyprus, and consists of both an old harbour and a newer part with large sailing yachts. During our first day in Cyprus, we had a fantastic lunch here, at the Kipriakon restaurant.

Limassol Marina

Limassol Marina is considerably larger than the part of the old harbour where we photographed. In any case, this is where we ended up when we first began to get acquainted with Cyprus. A good first meeting would turn out!

Limassol Marina is located in the city of Limassol, in the southern part of Cyprus.

Lunch at Kipriakon restaurant

We are in Cyprus on a press trip, together with a group of almost ten travel writers. On the first day, the whole group had lunch at the Kipriakon restaurant, located in the old harbour, in Limassol marina. This turned out to be a really cosy and nice place, where you can eat traditional Greek and Greek food. Cypriot food.

We started lunch with a series of meze, or small dishes. On the table were some Greek salads to share (classic but with capers as a little twist), bread, halloumi and an intriguing sausage made from pork, given a dark colour by a red wine marinade. Very tasty!

For the main course, everyone at the table chose slightly different dishes. Peter chose a classic moussaka, which he thought tasted very good.

I (Helena) chose "baked pasta", which is a traditional Cypriot dish with minced pork, pasta and bechamel sauce, cooked in the oven. Very good and very filling!

We also photographed the dish ttavas, which was ordered by others at the table. This is a stew made from lamb, or possibly goat. In this case, the stew contained tender lamb meat which, according to those who ordered the dish, was very good.

All in all, we had a very good lunch, and at the same time a nice first meeting with Cyprus. The food tasted very good, and in addition we could sit outside in the sun at the end of November. Fantastic!

There is of course much more to see and experience in Cyprus, and we will tell you more in the near future. In the vicinity of Limassol you can, among other things, visit Pafos, which offers interesting historical sights.
