Destination Sweden 2023 - here is the winner!

We have now presented the award for Destination Sweden 2023, here at Elmia Husvagn Husbil 2023. As usual, it is a special feeling to be here at the fair. This year - when we have worked so hard to realise the Destination Square - it is of course extra special for us. In addition, it was great to be able to give an award to a destination that we feel strongly about. Happy Friday!

On site at Elmia Caravan Motorhome

A few days before the fair Elmia Husvagn Husbil started, we took the motorhome down to the fair, together with Peter's brother Micke.

Finally, we arrived and entered the exhibitor campsite. For the first time, we pulled the levelling blocks out of the plastic (where they had been for years) and got a great spot. In addition to being close to the fair, the Caravan Club officials do a fantastic job of making everything work!

Finally time for Elmia Husvagn Husbil 2023!

We spent a whole evening and a whole day preparing, and then it was time for the fair to open. At last! We haven't had time to look at the fair very closely yet. We have rushed through the halls and seen that there are lots of motorhomes, caravans and accessories.

Destination Square

Myself, we mostly hang out on the Destination Square, which Elmia is organising in collaboration with us, FREEDOMtravel. Here we have our stand and there are also a lot of exhibitors with a focus on travel destinations.

Lectures at Destination Square

The Destination Square has a stage, and we have an intensive stage programme. Almost every half hour we have a new speaker who inspires travel, travelling and destinations.

Destination Sweden of the Year 2023

On Thursday afternoon it was time for us to award the 'Destination of the Year Sweden 2023' prize. We spend many months travelling every year and have therefore established an award to highlight destinations that we feel welcome camping tourists - and have a lot to offer in terms of experiences and attractions. This year, the Swedish prize went to ... drumroll... Gränna!

This beautiful town on Lake Vättern has a number of campsites and pitches, and also offers a lot to see and experience. It was therefore very fun to award the prize to this destination. Big and well-deserved congratulations!

Lova Roman and Sofia Petterson from Gränna Business received the award.

selfie booths

The Destination Square also has a selfie booth. Sit down for a while in a comfortable sunbed, in a sandy beach environment, and take a picture. If you post on Facebook or Instagram, you can tag along:

Happenings in the evenings

Of course, there are also a lot of happenings in the evenings - everything from private parties and company After Works to Oktoberfest. We really can't do as much as we want, but at the same time it's great fun to meet old and new friends and partners. Among other things, we stopped by one evening at HusbilsAnnika, who had a release for her new book "HusbilsAnnika - The greatest possible freedom on four wheels". Congratulations on the book!

We also popped in (and had a beer and danced around the hall) on the first night of Oktoberfest. Great atmosphere!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday, with warm greetings from Elmia Husvagn Husbil. Maybe we'll see you during the weekend? You'll find us at the Destination Square in Hall F (the big tent). On Saturday, at 15:30, we'll award the "European Destination of the Year" prize!
