We are currently on a press trip – this time to the German region of Lower Saxony. This is a fantastically beautiful region (which we hot can recommend!) and we have had many incredibly wonderful experiences – while traveling at a high pace and of course always encountering challenges.

A trip to Germany
Then it was time for us to get ready for press trip to the German region of Lower Saxony. This was an individual press trip for the two of us (so no group trip) and we were going to fly to Berlin – and then travel around by train.
We found it a bit difficult to know how to pack. We didn't want to pack too much (since we would be moving around all the time) and at the same time the weather was a bit fickle… Regardless, we were very excited to experience four (for us new) cities to discover in the region!

As you can see, Peter has brought his new phone (since the previous one sank in Ulvsunda Lake) – and now equipped with a nice, glittery ”senile lanyard”! We have both gotten these ”lanyards” – if they can help us not to lose our phones, then it is worth its weight in gold!

The flight took us from Stockholm to Berlin – a smooth and fairly short trip with Norwegian. In Berlin we each ordered an Asian chicken dish before it was time for the press trip program to begin in earnest…

Many, many train journeys...
We travel between the different destinations in Lower Saxony by train. There are many stations, platforms, train times and tickets to keep track of. Our experience so far is that there are a huge number of train connections in Germany, that the information on the platforms is quite good – and that you can get good help if things go wrong.
It all started when we missed our train from Berlin to Hildesheim, because the train changed platforms, which we didn't notice because we were so focused on how we were going to film the train... We had a bit of a panic attack for a short while, but luckily we were able to rebook at no cost, and everything worked out with a limited delay for us.

4 cities in 4 days – several picturesque half-timbered towns
We visit four cities in four days, and I don't think we can explain to anyone how intense it is. We get up early every morning and then wait: guided tour with lots of information, quick lunch, train to new destination (maybe with several changes), check-in at new hotel, guided tour in new city, dinner and then work at the computers.
On my mobile app you can see my steps the day before the press trip started (not so many steps on Sunday apparently) and how it has then increased during the trip. A little good training perhaps? You also have to consider that many of the steps were taken while we were carrying our luggage…

The cities we visit in Lower Saxony are fantastic nice. Some of them have become real favorites. The half-timbered houses, how picturesque can they be!? We have taken many, many photos of these beautiful places, and we will soon show you much more!

This week: Grateful for ...
This week we are grateful for all the beautiful places we get to see and experience. It is certainly not without effort, but the experiences are incredibly valuable to us. And Germany continues to deliver as one of our favorite countries in Europe!
Your turn ... what are you grateful for this week?

The week ahead
We are still in Germany as we publish this, but the end of the trip is approaching. We are full of impressions and are busy editing the photos from these charming and picturesque cities. We will show much, much more soon!

What great places you visited this week! There will be several flags on our wish list, cities that we haven't even heard of. We ourselves have had a good week with a nice campervan meeting last weekend and then a lot of everyday life with a few different chores. You can't avoid that even if you live full time in a campervan...

Many nice places you visit. Hope the senile cords help, but the prerequisite for that is that you have it around your neck. Not lying/standing on the table 🙄😇
I am grateful that I was able to help one of my grandchildren so he became happy again.

Yeah, but true!! I still think we might have to change it up a bit, around the neck and not... But I think it will also be bigger/more visible and less easy to forget...? (Another dilemma... 😅)

Yes, there is so much beauty to discover in Germany! I understand that it is intense, but I hope that you will bring wonderful experiences home to Sweden. I am grateful for a breather tomorrow, but at the same time I am happy about all the wonderful things I have been able to experience this week. Have a nice weekend!

Grateful for the wonderful weeks with proms, school graduations and blooming lilacs... and that I finally got to go to Gotska Sandön!

Smart with the senile cord for the iPhone, but where is it in the last picture? ;-)
It's very interesting what you'll experience. What do you say? If you've seen a city with half-timbered houses, you've seen them all, regardless of country? I react a bit like that, but maybe there are differences...
I hope you have a few quiet days left now, so you can recover before the flight home.

The thing about the senile cord isn't stupid at all. I'm thinking about a new iPhone so I might add that to the shopping list. 🙂
