Now we are getting ready for the next trip! This week we have more or less stayed at home in the houseboat. We've been feeling a bit sluggish and tired, and at the same time we've been busy with both work and other crafts ...

Photo exhibition in Stockholm
The fun of the week, apart from The 50th birthday party we took the campervan to, including a vernissage in Stockholm. It is the photographer Lasse Persson, who you can find on Instagram at @lasse_persson_sweden who is exhibiting his incredibly gorgeous photos, from a long career as a photographer. There are black and white images from the 1960s and 1970s as well as more modern colour photos.
We first met Lasse and his wife Solan in Portugal in 2015 - like us, they love the motorhome life! If you want to see Lasse's photos, you can do so until Sunday 12 October. The photos will be shown on Gallery House of Hagerius at Hornsgatan 28 in Stockholm.

Arts and crafts
Otherwise, we have mostly been at home this week. We've been working a lot (behind with everything it feels like!) and started some fixes with the motorhome. For example, we have ordered new headlight lanterns - as seen in the boxes in the picture - but we have not come to assembly yet ...

Peter's savoury dinners
When we were in Greece we ate in a restaurant all week and I almost think that Peter ended up missing cooking - at least he's been running wild in the kitchen since we got home. The sous vide is running hot and he's spending a lot of time fiddling with different sauces... Here are two dinners we had this week!

This week: Grateful for ...
We've been feeling sluggish and tired this week, but we're grateful that it happens when we're at home... and not when we're out on an intense journey! Although we love travelling, this week we're actually grateful for the peace and quiet of home!
Your turn ... what are you grateful for this week?

The week ahead
We are currently getting ready for the next journey: Uzbekistan! We will be travelling together with a group of journalists and bloggers from Sweden and Norway, and we see really looking forward to coming back to this exciting country!
Since we don't know how intense it will be, we have prepared a bunch of reports, including Lake Garda, the Greek island of Andros and French food. In the first instance, you can follow our Uzbekistan trip on Instagram at @freedomtravel.se! Now we wish you a nice Friday and weekend!

Did you miss the last Friday Blog? Feel free to read it Houseboat life, Uzbek meeting and Indian whisky

It's true that you get behind with things when you are travelling. How lucky that you managed to avoid illnesses during your trip. If you get sick at home, you can always manage what you can. Now make sure you get healthy for Uzbekistan. You look like you had a wonderful time in Greece.
We have been on the roll for almost 14 days, the hunt for the Northern Lights. Yesterday we left Björkliden and now at Laxforsen Jukkasjärvi. Have seen some faint Northern Lights here and there, unfortunately a lot of clouds but suddenly it happens and Aurora dances. We are slowly pulling ourselves home and the poor blog is far behind, no time to update hahaha. Have a nice weekend and travel Hugs

So "good " that the crassness appeared at home.
This week I am grateful that we managed to get the new oven in place ourselves, that it seems that all the children and their families will come when I celebrate my birthday next weekend. That's not a given when you have 20+ in your immediate circle.
Have a nice weekend!

Good that the oven is in place! And so nice that the whole gang can come to the birthday, understand that it is not a matter of course!

Grateful, yes just missing.
Now I write for Lasse too. I'm so glad that you turned up as lively, sunny energy kicks! Photojournalist Lars Epstein also turned up, a guru for street photographers. So yesterday people poured in after reading his positive text.
Yes, it is important to keep going, and you can safely say that you do... Have a good time on the upcoming trip and work properly... 😉 💖

Understand that it is nice to land at home from time to time, it is usually at such times that the body clarifies the need for stillness. Relaxing to cook your own food, especially when it is good, which I assume it will be! Have a good trip to Uzbekistan!

Helena says:
Yes, a little peace and quiet is really needed from time to time! Thanks Anna!

Given the way you've been travelling around the world, I can understand that you've been feeling a bit sluggish and tired. So maybe a quiet week was just what you needed for the Uzbekistan adventure. If I remember correctly, you didn't exactly get much sleep when you were last there.
Hope your stay in Samarkand will be as successful as last time. Keeping my fingers crossed:-)

It's likely to be intense... so yes, good thing we got some rest! 😉

It is often the case that when you relax, the infections come like a letter in the post. Still, it's nice to be at home then and that you have time to get well before Uzbekistan. If we had been in Stockholm, a visit to Lasse Persson's exhibition would have been a given. We really like his street photography. Have a really good time!

Yes, that's probably how it is, but still lucky to get sick when you're at home ... Thank you very much!

Gomorron Helena!
Hope you have gotten well now and are ready for a new trip <3 I can really understand the need to land properly between your trips, for example cooking! Would not feel good about eating out all the time but feel best by cooking my own food 🙂
Personally, I am grateful for my trip to Sweden that I just came home from, my animals that met me when I got home and of course over the family and that we are soon together again <3
Hugs!
