The beaches on the Greek island of Andros are incredibly beautiful, and not as crowded with tourists as some other islands. If you come at the beginning or end of the season, you can really enjoy the peace and quiet.

Beautiful beaches on Andros
There are so many beautiful beaches around the island of Andros. Some have soft fine-grained sand, and on others the sand is a little more coarse-grained. Some beaches can be easily reached by walking from the hotel or with a car excursion. Others can be more challenging to reach, and may require a boat or quad bike. Here we list a bunch of nice beaches that we saw during the trip.
1. Batsi Beach (Batsi)
In the centre of the town of Batsi you will find Batsi Beach. We never swam here, but we saw many others swimming in the clear water.

2. Stivari (near Batsi)
Within walking distance of our hotel in Batsi (Paradise Design Apartments) we found Stivari Beach. Here we had both a good lunch at the nice beach bar and a few hours of sun and swimming on the fine-grained beach.

3. Delavoyas Beach (near Batsi)
A little further from Batsi you'll find Delavoyas Beach - another nice beach that looks inviting.

4. Golden Beach (North-west coast)
Travelling north from Batsi, there are many beaches to choose from. One beach that is both nice and popular is the one called Golden Beach. There are plenty of sunbeds and a beach bar.

5. Agios Petros (north-west coast)
From Golden Beach it's not far to Agios Petros, which is also a lovely beach, with fine-grained sand and lovely, inviting sunbeds. There is also a beach bar here.

6. Felos (North-west coast)
If you drive further along the coast, you come to a beautiful bay, framed by high mountains. Here you will find the beautiful beach of Felos.

7. Zorgos (north-east coast)
The north-eastern coast of the island of Andros is known for its incredibly beautiful beaches, but the quality of the roads here means that some can be difficult to reach by car. However, Zorgos beach is easily accessible by car. You'll have to meander slowly among goats and sheep, first on tarmac roads and then on dirt tracks.

Once you get to the beach, it's easy to stand with your mouth open and gape for a while. Wow, so beautiful! There is both a beach bar and sun loungers here, but the day we came here it was too windy to enjoy the beach. It was simply a walk and some photos, for our part.

8. Vitali (North-east coast)
Vitali beach is least as beautiful as Zorgos, but if possible even more difficult to reach with a normal car. Car hire companies may not want you to take your car here because of the poor quality of the roads. If you do manage to get here, one way or another, you will discover a gem!

9. Piso Gialia (Stenies)
Just north of the main town of Andros (Chora) is the small village of Stenies, where you'll find a nice beach along with a small restaurant.

10. Neimporio Beach (Andros Town)
Around Andros town (Chora) are several beaches. On the northern side you will find the long Neimporio Beach.

11. Parlia Paraporti (Andros town)
On the south side, you will instead find the slightly shorter, but nice, Parlia Paraporti. Here you will also find the beach bar The Rock.

12. Lydi Beach (Andros Town)
Another beach that is close to Andros town is Lydi Beach. We only scouted this one from a distance and it looks incredibly idyllic. It is possible that you have to make a little effort to get to it.

13. Grias Pidima (Korthiou)
Another great beach is Grias Pidima, located at Korthiou. You can drive almost all the way there by car, and then you have to make your way down on foot, via stairs and sometimes with the help of ropes. Once down, you are rewarded with a very beautiful beach, with a large stone pillar pointing straight out of the water.

14. Milos Beach (Korthiou)
Korthiou also has Milos Beach. Here we lay one afternoon, on our thin bath towels, when we needed to rest for a while. One advantage here is that you have many nice restaurants nearby, not least Sea Satin Nino, which we can highly recommend.

15. Chalkolimionas (west coast)
Last but not least, we have to mention Chalkolimionas beach, located on the western side of the island. At this beautiful beach, you'll find a really cosy beach bar that offers a great place to hang out and great views. In addition, the owners are incredibly nice. We can highly recommend a trip down to this beach!

More to see and do in Andros
There is, of course, much more to see and do on the island of Andros, which is easily accessible by ferry from Athens. For example, you can visit the pretty town of Andros Town, eat well at Nice restaurants in Andros, go on boat trips or hike on one of the island's many certified hiking trails. Or why not discover the beautiful Gerolimni waterfall?

That island is small and so are its beaches, but guuuuu so nice. And when I appreciate with Greece's holiday resorts / islands that almost all beaches, large and small, always have a beach bar. That's how they pamper their tourists.
Just one question - where were the tourists when you were looking for the beaches?

Agree with this about beach bars! Even in very remote places we can find beach bars, amazing! 🙂 And yes, haha, we were on Andros more or less the last week of the season, so the tourists started to thin out ... And the fact is that the island is bigger than you think, so even though there were quite a lot of tourists in the tourist resorts, it became sparse if you took the car to a beach a bit away ...!
